The major problem I forsee is warranty. They couldn't and haven't been able to support their dealer network on warranty claims and parts supply for the 961 so the same will be true for this model unfortunately. You need to be very brave and very patient.

Let's be honest this won't be the owners only bike so if there is an issue the bike will probably go back to the factory.

If you buy a Bimota it's the same thing.

Bloody wonderful . At last a real step forward from Norton instead of an uninspiring parallel twin.

This is going to be an absolute peach of an engine lick

A great team of enthusiastic, experienced , patriotic guys , backed by Ricardo who have MotGP ,F1 know how.

I'm genuinly excited and sorely tempted to invest . Nothing else in the bike world has remotely stirred my interest in recent years ( Kwak H2R excepted ) And this thing is British clap

Ricardo supply the engines for McLaren's current road cars, and look at the rave reviews they are getting in the super or hyper car world. It will make a fantastic all-British machine.

if I were to go into bike building I'd be breaking out the glue gun and bonding the frame together.
It was good enough for Suzuki K5/6 frame reinforcement eek

Suzuki used to bond the swing arms of the DR350 together back in the 90's

Bonding aluminium is quite common in the aerospace industry but not that well publicised.

I used to rivet and glue Indy and F3000 tubs, word was the rivets were only there to hold the parts together while the glue set.

I was speaking with Stuart Garner at the weekend, and that is exactly the impression I was left with. Think a UK version of MV... Let's hope we're proved wrong!

I hope they do well and grow but for some reasons I still cannot take Norton seriously. It seems to me that most manufacturers are doing better than them, cheaper and more reliable.

Some of the forums are less than enthusiastics about their track record on the new Commando, namely production delays and subsequent reliability issues.

I'm not sure, if I had the wedge, that I'd sink £45k in an unproven engine developed by a small manufacturer. I keep drawing a parallel with TVR's Speed6.
McLaren have done very well with their engine devolved by the same 'small manufacturer.' Ricardo do a lot of design and built work for aother companies. The gearbox for the Veyron as already mentioned so they have form and know why they are doing.
more interestingly for a biker, ricardo helped develop the BMW K1300 and K1600 engine as well.

Hi, I too had a look at the SS at the NEC I had a chat with Simon Skinner. I didnt really consider things like warranty as I was absolutely stunned by its beauty. I am In The fortunate position of buying one of them. I won't hold my breath to take delivery. But I am sure it will be worth the wait. The engine should be a stonker!

Do you have a delivery date?

I really pondered long and hard about getting one, the ones on the stand at the bike show were stunning, but caution got the better of me. I hope it is as awesome as everyone wants them to be.

I think the RR version was about £24k if I recall, the SS was considerably more

Hi I have no delivery date. No one has yet. We have been told late summer this year. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes into next summer. They are £44000.00. To be honest I would have paid more. I have bought from the heart. I may live to regret it. For me it's worth the risk. I am more than happy to keep you posted on the experience if you are interested.

Hope it comes to something in the future. Bike of the TT for me. Hearing it and seeing it in person was something I won't forget. What. A. Noise.

The TT bikes still had the Aprillia engines in but that should give a good indication of noise though.
