According to Norton CEO, it's an 'Admin error' in filing
However, you would say that if you didn't want to lose the confidence of your buyers (ie investors, as they're the ones funding the new project)
Who knows what the truth is...
I hear what you're saying but you could say on the other side of the coin, who monitors HMRC's notices page to see if a company is late on its tax returns..? It seems some people are purposely looking for a way to unsettle the Norton camp.

They put on a good show last month at the excel. But I wondered if the 1200 v4 was such a good idea in this day and age when everyone just wants retros.
The small bikes for £10000 looks like a better move. I would imagine a lot of the parts are made abroad for that price.
They should build modern retro style bikes.

I agree. The V4 is a very odd machine to try and build now I think.

If I were them I’d be milking every penny out of the current modern retro scene (good heritage/names + low development costs + forgiving/wealthy customers = big profits!) while developing a range of electric bikes in the background using the cash cow that is Bike Shed etc. Like it or not, electric bikes will be the next big thing, and they could be ready to launch ahead of the pack and make Norton innovative again. I’d be looking at developing a modular system like John Bloor did with Triumph, and sell a frame with various power pack, bodywork and suspension options to suit what kind of journey the rider had planned.

What I definitely wouldnt be doing is spending millions developing a dying breed internal combustion engine to power a bike in a dying breed class...

Could you actually sit on the new bikes? They were roped off at the NEC - and people were still paying £500 deposits. I thought then there must be (more) money troubles.

You are right in one way but in another totally and utterly wrong!

That V4 is a proper dream bike. A real halo model. They were already building the 10k retros. Having something like that draws people in and plays to Norton’s racing heritage.

Financially maybe it’s an odd move but just look at the thing - at 45k it’s too much for most but it’s a bargain

One day I will own one!!

This, as much as I don't like to admit it, is the truth.

Where did 3dp,s post disappear to ? I thought it was well put, your accountant doesn't allow you to be late for filing, they are pretty persistent in reminding you of the dead line, you would have to have a very good reason not to wont to file in your returns

For the small business owner it normally means you haven't got enough funds in the bank to pay the corporation taxes.

I can't comment on their business or cash flow but I cancelled my order for the Superlight a couple of weeks back (we are now looking to emigrate from the UK so doesn't work) and they paid back my deposit immediately.

Personally I’d rather save some money and get a Panigale V4 R or if the rumours are true about next year an RVF1000R,don’t think anyone can do a V4 better than Honda!.
