I ride year round about 15000 miles a year, all for a reason as opposed to fun.

The worst weather I had last year was -4.5c and light mist which meant that it frosted the inside of the visor. Was like riding on an ice rink too, I was spinning back tyre on pretty much every corner with just a tickle of throttle.

Anything below 4c and rain is deeply unpleasant and anything close to 1c or below can get very slippery which is why I've sourced a 2wd soviet sidecar this year for the really crap weather. Heated waistcoat and gloves ready for this year too (haven't needed it yet though, worst I've had this year so far is -1c)

That's the best excuse for buying a 2wd Soviet sidecar I've ever heard! Are you sure you just didn't really, really want one? wink

About 12 degrees celsius.

Winter riding is for peasants.

That's true, still not fancying the rain and 40mph winds though!

No... Bike is in the shed sleeping. Car has heated seats and winter tyres.

It's been so much nicer on the bike today! But the road conditions are even worse, the roads are covered in terrible wet salt that covers your visor. Car drivers are so lucky with their washer jets!

about 5 degrees for me, but only if the roads are drying up abit - the cold and rain are no fun.

Anything over 10 degrees and the textiles are off unless its wet.

I don't mind the rain, it's just the cold and rain together that I get fed up with.

She's point blank refused to be in the sidecar - insists on riding her own bike.

The weather has been dry & relatively mild with a decent breeze, but the roads simply refuse to fking dry out!!! What the fk does salt do to tarmac to turn it into some sort of slimy sponge???

I had to ride visor up on the M56 this evening as the salt made it unusable.

I know! Just wet enough to make things extra difficult! I mean at least heavy rain = clean visor!

Really really pisses me off! IMHO they salt too readily, the salt makes for a slimy, slippery nightmare.

Surely it's better a small frost (no more slippery) that's melted by sunrise?

Humidity is 80% plus. Not gonna dry out with that.

Humidity is between 95-100% all day today, no chance of anything drying up.
