Maybe they have something linked to your address.. Did you perhaps forget about another Ariel Ace you crashed recently? Perhaps into bus full of accident claim handlers?

Insurance companies tend to remember things like that.

It's a specialist bike which hasn't been correctly categorized. Much like when the HP4 came out.

As said you are punching your details into a non-specialist website for a specialist vehicle. There isn't much to discuss.

If you want to insure it, speak to a broker. If you want to carry on wondering why comparethemeerkat is quoting you 8 grand then carry on.

You've definitely done something wrong. I'm a slightly better risk (older, more NCD), but other than that we're very similar

I've got loads quoting all around the £300 - 450 mark which always seems to be the going rate for me

I can guarantee I'm a bigger risk than you OP, 25 years old, no garage, but even my quotes are better than yours!

A leftfield thought. It's year end bonus time in the City and people get a bit silly with buying motorised toys. Maybe it's the Surrey postcode and the time of year combining to scare all insurers away.

I must just be old. My quote from Bennett's fully comp for an Ariel Ace was £172. £450 excess.
I am 26 with 10 years no claims and I am coming in around £395 + £500 excess

Added an extra 0 to the value or something by mistake perhaps?

I can't see what else it could be really.

One last time.

Specialist bike. Non specialist insurer.

I'll give up now.

But loads of us are getting prices from the websites, so it's not that specialist.
