Top box used all the time (Givi), I am not keen on the idea of leaving it on the ground (kicked by accident if nothing else) or the leaving it on the under seat hooks (rain will get in as it effectively hangs nearly upside down from the strap). When no top box fitted I have a small cable lock which I put through the visor opening and around the handlebars between the clamps, sits nicely on the top yoke, cable to short to let it go anywhere and open side down so relatively weather resistant. Only usually use the cable lock when away from bike for a short time.

I just leave mine hanging, I don't mind other people touching my helmet. wink
Bikers Nemesis, have you changed your login name? biggrin

Thanks all, I have a decent new Givi top box which is permanently not he bike so I may use that, saves lugging it to the office and finding somewhere to keep it.

My top tip however is, don't leave it in the top box in the morning when it's been raining. Damp helmets are not (always) fun wink

Even less fun if you pick up a helmet that got soaked with sweat the night before.

I've the 58L one. It's great. So practical. Like having a handbag.
Cheers, although when I was searching on these recently I came across these: http://holan.pl/en/nomada-pro-top-cases/3478-nomad...
It was on an adventure bike forum. Not had a chance to fully read through it yet.
