Unusual bikes you've had?

My mates mrs has a v raptor , a quirkier version of the above .
Mine was actually a v-raptor originally but had the fairing removed and converted to a normal one by a previous owner. They are really good for shorter riders due to the ridiculously low seat height, but combined with wide bars and quite rearset pegs makes for a strange riding position - fun to ride thoughBenelli Tre-K

I had it new in 2008 and kept for 3.5 years. I probably did fewer than 10,000 miles (broke the speedo/odometer sensor with a disc lock) but had no problems with it.

Suzuki GSXR400 got it as a non runner after it had been sat in a garage for nearly 30 years. Never got it going and couldn't get bits for it. They only made this one for 1 year and only imported 100 to this country to satisfy TT rules. I would have loved to have got it going given it only had 4000km's on it but decided to throw in the towel as it'd never be worth what I'd have to put into it.
I remember these well, Mat Oxley on a TZR250 and Barry Woodland(on the GSXR) had a right royal battle that year, I still have my copy of MCN..Shame you never got it sorted .

Here's a rare little one for you; Japanese market Kawasaki ZX4, a one year only baby brother of the (then) fastest bike in the world, the ZX10.

I was given this for free when I bought my Hayabusa (the first one registered in the UK) from its previous owner's abandoned wife.
The bike had sat for several years without moving so needed a carb rebuild and a refresh all round.
The right front disc had corroded with exposure to the elements to the point where it was measurably thinner in one half and I couldn't find a replacement for it for love or money so I ended up taking it and its caliper off.
I swapped the bike for a high mileage ER5 (which I then sold on again) and then two years later it turned up again locally and I bought it back!

By now, it had some accident damage on the left side and the current owner had managed to find a replacement disc but not a caliper; I didn't let on that I knew where I could find one...
Theres a mint one of those that does the rounds at some of the VJMC meets I attend, only one ive ever seen.[url]

I guess my KR1 of the same era is pretty rare now, I see a few KR1S's at some of the meets I go to but ive not seen a KR1 out and about being ridden since the 80s..
Does this count as an unusual bike?
It's an Ecorider Hippo. They were actually registered as tractors rather than motorbikes so could be ridden on the road (very slowly)by anyone with even a whiff of any kind of licence.
I had one on loan as a demonstrator about 10 years ago. 230cc Hatz Diesel engine, 120mpg but only about 30mph on standard gearing but would pull a quad trailer up a mountainside with 3 sheep aboard.
No, I didn't buy one after using the demo, it didn't do anything that a normal quad couldn't do except fall off it's stand in the mud.

Just realised I had another one - 400 Bros ,funky v-twin grey import, alloy frame made from the same spars as NSR250 ( rather than the boat anchor steel frame of the Revere), single side swing arm with chain drive (rather than crappy shaft drive on the Revere), big disc with FireBlade caliper. Really good fun to ride, if a slightly ridiculous name

This is one of the original ones out of less than 120 in total. Mondial only actually made a few, others were assembled out of parts bought by another company. The front mudguard and number plate hanger are the original style, and a couple of other minor differences. 11 originals are still missing.

Two Brothers Racing in the US raced the 650 version, they bored it to about 700cc and had quite a bit of success with it.Tommo13 said:
Here's mine. I did love it at the time but the factory going under and reports of them going wrong big time put me off, so I swapped it for a 916. Cue Fleegle posting his and making me jealous !
[url]Here's mine. It can't be too rare this being the 3rd one posted on this thread.
