Unusual bikes you've had?
Discussion
Hiya
We have a few unusual bikes. A liking of Italian 125 2 squeaks helps.
Bimota Dieci. I always wanted a Bimota and they became affordable. Occasional use toy
Cagiva Freccia. This one was bought for spare parts for another one but was too good to break so we fixed it up instead. The other one was the ex road test bike (and went like the clappers). This one isn't that tidy, but running OK. Got it back on the road last year after quite a few years not being used and have been enjoying riding it.
Gilera CX125 - Bought last year at auction and hope to get on the road at some point. ( was sold this as an ex phil read bike)
Single side wheel on front AND back!!
have you seen one before?Yes, seen a few!
My better half bought one new in Italy in 1991, bringing it back in a Transit van. Hasn't been the most reliable bike we have had. At some point I will summon the courage to rebuild it again, ready for it to break down again.
We bought another one about 15 years ago. A rolling chassis and a load of bits. One day will go back together. And then a crashed one a few years later for spares. The crash was hard enough to bend the front fork.
The crashed rolling chassis was cosmetically sorted out to appear on the Bimota (the designer was previously with Bimota) stand at the Manchester bike show last year.

I'm cheating with the 'had' bit, more like wish I had but what the hell. Bloke in my village knows I like bikes and invited me in one day to check out his collection. Mostly pre war stuff in absolutely mint condition. Including one of these...
I'd heard of the Brough Superior but didn't realise how valuable they were, the one in the picture is in a similar condition and sold for north of £300k.

I briefly owned this Guzzi LeMans Tenni.
Nice looking thing, but it was a bit like riding a (slow) horse.
Previously posted these, but since Photobucket screwed up, they deserve another airing.
Inherited this Silk when Dad died 17 years ago.
Was as queer as a bottle of crisps, and pretty nasty to ride. But I really kick myself for selling it.
