Pinlock visor thing problem.
Discussion
I bought a new Shoei Qwest helmet yesterday, and in the box was a Pinlock screen device. Never seen one before, but something strikes me as totally wrong here.........
Do you normally get a freebie one with a new helmet?
Other than it obviously being the wrong one, it is worth getting the right one, do they work?
First thing that happened when I wore the helmet, first breath, the screen fogged up, even when riding. So, something needs doing.

I'm not sure that's the wrong one?? If you haven't fitted a pinlock before, are you sure you're doing it right??
Get someone else to try to straighten the curve out of the visor, whilst you line up both the slits on the pinlock with the clips on the visor. If you flatten out the visor enough (the van bend a long way without breaking), you should be able to push the pinlock onto it until it clicks into place.
Make sure the sticky edge of the pinlock is against the visor so it can seal

It is th wrong pinlock that is a C49 pinlock for a Hornet DS, he needs one for a CW-1 visor then it should fit fine.
The packing says CNS-2 Shoei. It is actually clipped in, just overlaps, so no seal, no matter which way you turn it, and is loose and floppy.
I'll pop back to the shop on the morrow and make inquiries.

As a 20+ year Shoei wearer - the shop that provided you that OP should be ashamed of themselves, its not even remotely the correct shape. LOL
Your Qwest take the same visor and pinlocks as my previous XR1100.
This is the correct clear one for example http://www.helmetcity.co.uk/shoei-cw-1-cwr-1-cns-1...
This is one of at least three/four online place I've bought stuff before - other are available.

Took it back and got it changed today, they couldn't work out why the wrong one was in the box.
Pinlocsks are the best thing since sliced bread. You will wonder how you ever survived without one! They do need a little maintenance mind: https://pinlock.com/blog/how-to-clean-a-pinlock-in...

I shall take mine for a test drive soon. Even the guy in the shop says they are brilliant.
Is it true, the plastic actually absorbs moisture?
And it does warn against using it at night, no idea why that might be, it doesn't look tinted or dark at all?
My 2 year old Shark lid with pinlock fogs up a little when very cold in winter - this has only started recently, so I guess I need to do recommended maintenance as per pinlock video. Is it true, the plastic actually absorbs moisture?

At night, the plastic tends to refract/bounce around lights, particularly car headlights, & worse when its raining. Affects my peripheral vision somewhat. Its stamped daytime use only or similar, so probably illegal at night(??), but still WAY better than fogging up.
