Sure I guess unless you've been biking for years esp commuting all weather all year round too you're unlikely to.
Basically I started using their old half uncle once removed which used to stick onto the inside of the visor which was called a fog city - pimped/sponsoring WSB riders during the late 90s when I started riding. Again fog city were the first to make an insert that both stopped misting up and also stuck correctly to the inside of the shoei double curvature visors wink
Pinlock is the more modern version and these guys work with the helmet manufacturers themselves.
I'm fair convinced Shoei was one of the first to partner and start offering these in the box with their helmets. Arai certainly do now too.
My old old XR1000 was the first helmet I had that used them, before that multiple fog cities.
Seems like you can still get fog city inserts but I guess pinlock has the market share now.
