Tony, did you ride the MT-09 before buying the Abarth?
Any noticeable differences if you did, apart from the bk crunching handlebars?
Just curious.
I tried the MT09 when they first come out. I didn't try the XSR though.Any noticeable differences if you did, apart from the bk crunching handlebars?
Just curious.
Main differences are the suspension has improved and the mapping is different to the 9, seems torquier

A work colleague has one of these. The riding position feels awful and I can't get past the ugly bits that appear to have been "styling" afterthoughts...those odd boxes on the frame up by the headstock and the hideous silver mudguard brackets on the front. That bulbous round rear light is a munter, too!
Not for me. My other colleague's MT10 has had us all slobbering, though!
It's certainly not a bike to go touring on, but it was bought for short summery rides. As for the riding position feeling awful, I have moved the bar forwards slightly and it has improved. When moving at 40+ it's no problem but commuting would be hell. Strangely the sculpted rear cowl is my favourite bit of the 'styling afterthought'. Horses for courses. Not for me. My other colleague's MT10 has had us all slobbering, though!
I could have had the MT10 for the same money but after testing one when they came out and my most recent brush with the law, I decided that I'd be better off with a bike that didn't turn me into a man possessed

Don't forget we're out and about on Sunday. Be good to see her in the flesh
It's the last weekend I have available before the 1000km at Donny and still have stuff to do to the bike, so unlikely I'll be out on any long runsDo you know where you are heading?
