Sounds like I was lucky then.

By 7.30, the worst of the weather seemed to have passed Bristol. So I chose to ride. A bit blowy but dry.

Thanks a lot Doris. It's not like I was using that fence or anything...

I commuted today - blows you around like mad on the scooter. Permanently making big and unexpected corrections. It very much reminds me of riding drunk.

Not to bad on the motorbike. Nothing like you get blown about on the pushbike.

My engine crane was sat in my makeshift workshop next to my bike. Mistake. The lovely Doris blew the crane over into my bike, knocking it off its side stand. Tank has some lovely dents in now frown

Lost a load of tiles here, some rain damage and noo power from 12.30 till 23.15. Something like 500 houses off. Western power in the midlands had 20,000 odd in total off..

Sympathies. That looks like the answer to one of those threads that starts, "I want to keep my Goldwing at the back of the house but have a narrow gate on a path that immediately turns left past the house, down two steps, along a 2ft wide gravel strip with a big hedge on one side...'

So the high winds hammered all the trees in my local park coming home late last night there were branches some quite substancial littering the residential road next door.. not sure if anyone parking there has any nice new free dents.
Also its hammered my small balcony garden I have for my flat - good job everything was dead from last year anyway - I now have a perfect excuse to go clear it all up at the weekend (added to the job list from the Mrs basically) smile
But the bike although I didn't ride it yesterday was still upright and fully covered down in the carpark because I lock the cover front and rear.

There were about 20 trees down in Maidenhead and quite a few near Wokingham too (If you're in the SE) yesterday thanks to Doris. I was not on bike.

Rode the bike 20 miles each way to/fro work yesterday. Can't say it's the most fun I've ever had on two wheels, but it wasn't that bad. Worst ever experience was getting soaked to the skin riding back from Dover. Wet through 20 mins into a 3 hour ride. Took me a full hour after getting off the bike before I'd thawed out fully!

Hope everyone's safe anyway. Round here a bloke got his baby out of his car literally seconds before a tree fell over and landed on it!

Not wishing to lock the stable door after the horse has bolted, but bike covers act like sails in high winds and will lift a bike off its wheels with ease. When the winds blowing, take the cover off and try to point your bike into the wind if possible.

Heh! I do realise that although my driveway is usually shielded from the elements and it's never happened before. Still lesson learned!

Fortunately there isn't a massive amount of damage!

The wind gets under the covers, you're better taking the cover off when the wind is that strong, sorry a bit late now for advice! Hope it wasn't damaged too much

Thanks bud, I've never had a problem here before as it's quite sheltered but lesson learned!

There isn't much damage really, very fortunate.
