WSB Philip Island
Discussion
Same st with the music spoiling it. I recorded the WSB preview on Eurosport and as soon as it starts the crap music is drowning out everything, I stopped bothering with Duke videos back in the day because of this garbage. Who the hell thinks I want to listen to crap music? I want to hear the bikes or someone telling me something useful, nothing else.
Why do they do this?
Why do they do this?
Bit boring until the last 6 laps I thought. Or maybe I'm taking too much codeine. Just doesn't entertain like 2002 Bayliss/Edwards etc for me, maybe because the bikes are so refined and predictable now they just seem to go round in circles a bit like F1, or perhaps I'm too nostalgic.
Best ride, if uneventful, by Camier.
Yamaha with Lowes surprising, but needs another 10 horses by the looks of it.
Melandri not as rusty as you would expect.
Honda must be disappointed even though it's a new bike.
And why aren't Suzuki there?

Always makes me chuckle when I watch an excellent tight race and then read the Meh! / could be faster / more overtakes / etc type stuff! I blame CGI action Hollywood stuff and over-indulgence of Class A's as you allude to. Best ride, if uneventful, by Camier.

In isolation the podium results look predictable but otherwise a top race.

I can appreciate the skill but it's not the spectacle it was 15+ years ago in my opinion. In isolation the podium results look predictable but otherwise a top race.
Whereas BSB still manages it, although some of that is probably down to the nadgery nature of a lot of the tracks which means aggressive riding is more productive and a rider can hope to keep any advantage down the next (shorter than WSB) straight.
Less electronics always makes for better racing (certainly as a spectator). IMO .

That was a superb race at one of the best tracks in the world. Not sure what else you could've asked for.
