I can't believe how much better it looks without the tacky rim tape, adds about a grand to the value without it!

Very nice. Thing is I do already have an MV Agusta F3 for the fun days out.

Very. Nice mister.

Does the clutch make a noise like a Salvation Army Captin banging a tambourine?

I'm also thinking of getting back in to Ducati ownership, I think a good standard unmolested 999 for just over £5000 is a wise buy at the moment.

I love the 999, though I may be biased smile

The 999 looked good as a race rep, whereas the 916/996/998 did not.

This is because the race paint disguises the basic ugliness of the 999 but distracts from the basic beauty of the 916/996/998.

848 has a wet clutch so no rattle unfortunately wink

Will make a change from the 748 where everyone had to point out 'your bike sounds broken' when stopping for petrol hehe

Another little update though, I cracked on with the polish last night, got the new exhaust guard on and have just ordered a rear seat cowl and clear double bubble screen.

Also booked in on 5th April at FTR suspension for a full check / setup and weight matched rear spring if required.

I felt bad for putting non-sporty PR4s on my R1. This pic makes me feel much better. smile

Seat cowl turned up cloud9

Took it out for a half hour blast as well before it got too dark. Rides and handles much better on standard suspension settings and am starting to get used to it. Definitely strange being on a sports bike again after 4 years on uprights though hehe

Ha, I felt the same. They're bloody ugly compared to the Supercorsas I had on before. Amazing tyres though, and realistically all you need if people were honest with themselves

Nice, I'm considering getting a Ducati. There seems to be wallet creep though...£5k for a 749, £6k for an 848, £7k for an Evo, £8k for a Corse and then £9k for an 899....not sure where the sweet spot is.
I keep toying with a Ducati superbike, having had a few Monsters, but as I use the Duc for the commute each day, I just don't think I could do it to a superbike. I would be too worried about it getting dirty. For some reason I don't mind the Monster 821 being covered in ACF50. Although I did have to clean the wheels down this morning before I left for work!

Personally I feel Metzeler M7RR are fabulous tires!

I like the grips (these are ProGrip 717, if I am not mistaken? I have these, they are very grabby, good for mid-sommer hot traffic).
I'd put see-through stompgrip on the tank.

I liked the red stripes on the wheels, they made the wheels and the bodywork stand out. Black alloys and tires look vanilla imho.
