Dangerous thing a motorbike on a padestrian path.
Agree with the motorcycle on the path. I know Not as bad, but how many adults do you see ride on the path with a pedal bike?Dangerous thing a motorbike on a padestrian path.
I always though pedal bikes should be on the road not path. Would a cyclist get 9 points for the same thing?

It's actually not always illegal for pedals cycles to be on pedestrian footpath. The issue is, roads are built for cars, and car drivers are not always very kind to cyclists. A lot of people who ride bicycles, are rightly frightened to be on the road with huge metal objects, who's drivers often think they've eternal right of way. Imagine trying to take your young child on the road, on their bicycle. I always though pedal bikes should be on the road not path. Would a cyclist get 9 points for the same thing?
In quite a few European counties, pedal cycles and pedestrians are quite happily able to share space, and safely.
Pedal cycles should be on a bicycle path, but we don't seem to build the in this country, and the one's we do build are pretty poor. So cycles get forced onto the road, with fast moving big metal cars.
But that's another long winded issue.

I once got a telling off for something similar, although I was also going the wrong way up a one way street and almost ran over plod coming out of a sandwich shop.
I was a courier, it was the 80s and I had been round the block twice before losing my rag and transgressing. The parcel was a bit late arriving but I only got a 20 minute bking!

Sounds harsh OP, but I guess how harsh depends on if you were on the back wheel in 3rd gear or crawling along (somewhere I
in between I'm sure)
2wheelsjimmy. Your initial "do the crime, do the time" is assuming that the "crime" was accurately / reasonably judged. bear in mind we don't know the detailed circumstances. And you're right about some cyclists being uncomfortable on the road (I really don't like my kids cycling on the road) that doesn't mean we should just pass the risk down the chain to pedestrians. Cycling on the footpath needs to be safe and courteous which most certainly isn't always the case..... Which takes us back to the OP, it could have been done carefully (though still illegal - 3 points?) or recklessly, and you don't know which. To warrant 9 points it must have been judged a very serious / dangerous manoeuvre and we cant say whether that's reasonable or not without seeing it.

That, or the magistrate just decided to make an example of "the one they caught"! As you say, the video will allow the us internet judges/juries to become completely outraged, either at the leniency of the judgement or at the actions of the OP, or, as is more likely, at both!

Just saw this reply; the OP himself says a few moments after he comes past on his motorbike, you see a pedestrian with a pushchair and child enter the video frame. That's why (and rightly so) he got everything they could give him. There is no such thing as driving carefully on a pedestrian footpath, it's reckless, impatient and arrogant. in between I'm sure)

There is NO excuse to be riding a motorbike on the pedestrian footpath, none. And perhaps his punishment will pass a lesson to anyone who considers doing so? Or at least to him.
There was a video on Twitter the other day, of a car driving down a pedestrian area outside a school, to avoid the traffic jam, impatient and arrogant, and incredibly dangerous.

I'm going out on a limb here to say there is a reason the op hasn't posted the video. Its likely because if he did it would show him in the light that deserved 9 points despite his protestations.
Would that really bother him on an internet forum, ultimately apart from anyone on here he has actually met or are friends, what anyone else thinks or says is irrelevant.Does he even have the video?
I have to agree. The lack of video does suggest that it may show the OP in a worse light than he would like. The magistrate saw the video and the magistrate decided on 9 points. All sympathy rapidly disappearing!

Start of the video is a typical dashcam wker. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/3446118/road-rage-dr...
Flashing lights because of a perfectly fine overtake.
