I'm after a decent intercom system that will do rider-to-pillion and bike-to-bike. What has anyone used and would they recommend it?

Autocom are the better ones but expensive, they are based in warwick, good range.

Cheaper are NEV advertised on Motorcyle Uk site, have been told they are ok but not used them

I run a motorcycle Taxy firm and our intercom use is very harsh, all weathers and all year around. Sonic communications do good systems but they give poor service and the prices are very high. They sell much better kit to the police though.

Autocom are the best of a bad bunch IMHO, expensive, does NOT offer 100+mph communmication but does work better than the Sonic and you can conct the mobile phone, stereo, and indeed a bike to bike intercom.

None of these systems like the wet though!

This seemed like a good idea to me a couple of years ago. 'Er on the back remarked how much more pleasant it would be if we could communicate while touring. Three weeks after I bought it, the device developed an, um, terminal, unforeseen, incurable design fault and went back to Motorcycle City. The worst biking idea I have ever had.

Mon Ami, too right! I won't get one of 'em for that reason. And it's not the same having to shutup when you really want to shout "phwoar" for some reason...

I like having decent music through the intercom and the phone is a bonus as well. I NEVER take my wife on the bike so no worries there...

I dont like the idea of music talking etc on the bike , I would rather concentrate on my riding , anyway if you want a radio by a car

Do they sheild your ears from the wind noise or are they simply louder than the wind noise? If it's the latter then surely, over time, you'll go deaf.
