Bit of an update, I've used it for commuting a few times, 0430 start and wet on the way to work
It's been really easy to ride, a really wet morning and I'm not sure I went over 4k
As its still a bit tall I thought I'd adjust the suspension, what a pain in the bum, to get at the shock it's tank and seat off, then the whole of the rear ends bodywork and the undertray that has the battery etc on or in it.
So I got just far enough that it wasn't worth putting it back together and it started pouring down, I was outside as the garage is full.
Good news is I got to the shock and it's a hagon aftermarket shock, I've taken all of the preload out of the forks and the shock, I can now use the centre stand as the rear wheel was on the ground even on the stand
It now sits more upright on the side stand and is deffo lower when sitting on it, not ridden it yet as I've waited for the Stourbridge monsoon to pass and it's still hete

Have you tried rotating the chain adjuster eccentrics in the swing arm? as is sounds like they have been rotated 180 degrees to raise the rear, which in turn means the tyre will be on the floor when on the side stand, it's a very common mod to increase rear ride height and improve turn in.It's been really easy to ride, a really wet morning and I'm not sure I went over 4k

It's a 10 minute job to do, undo pinch bolts then use an 8mm (I think) allen wrench to turn the adjusters, you'll have to go the opposite way than you would to tighten the chain.

They are in the normal low position, I'm hoping that adjusting the shock will allow me to do this after It's a 10 minute job to do, undo pinch bolts then use an 8mm (I think) allen wrench to turn the adjusters, you'll have to go the opposite way than you would to tighten the chain.

I am looking to pick one up for commuting duties how do you find ride position / wind & rain protection / fuel ?It's been really easy to ride, a really wet morning and I'm not sure I went over 4k

So far good on fuel, not done a tank full then work it out run yet, I've only done about 120 miles. It's a bit of a stretch to the bars but they are not too low
Weather protection seems good, it's been wet on my way to work all week and my gear is hardly wet, I've got the STD screen not a flip or DBL bubble one

You say this has Harrison Billet 6 calipers on it?
How are you finding them? I’ve just bought a bike with some on and not ridden it yet but debating changing to a set of Nissin 4 pots just for ease of pad availability etc.
The bike will get used on track occasionally.
I'm not impressed so far, but I haven't had a chance to really go through them, new seals lube etcHow are you finding them? I’ve just bought a bike with some on and not ridden it yet but debating changing to a set of Nissin 4 pots just for ease of pad availability etc.

Also the pads are quite dark so may have been contaminated with fork oil, trouble is asking me as my last bike was a cbr600fx with posh fork Inners etc and that was about 80+ kilos lighter and that was about 2 years ago.
I'm looking at a radial master cylinder upgrade
Pads are about £100 for a set

I can now put both feet on the ground at traffic lights etc, it's quite a bit lower in fact I may be able to do the thing with the chain adjuster to speed up the steering and still touch the floor.
The front end was backed off too but I'm thinking it may have uprated springs
It's quite cold blooded in the morning, starts instantly but then seems to go onto two or three cylinders, maybe another carb strip will show a bit of crap in there, last time I just used a spray next time I'll have some nylon thread to poke through the jets

The only problem I had with mine was, If I used it in the wet I found the front pads (both EBC make) almost invariably had welded themselves to the discs the following day. They always released with a good "Thunk" under engine power. Never had that problem with any other bike.
It's got Harrison 6 pot calipers with I think SBS pads I've been commuting on this recently, good mpg, good weather protection, early shifts I leave home at 0315
The only thing I don't really like currently is the brakes.
I'm looking at upgrading to a later radial master cylinder
The brakes are quite wooden and not really feeling that good, I'm going to rebuild with new seals at the same time

On my first 1100 I put 6 pot callipers on it. I believe they were from an early GSXR 1000 but don’t quote me on that.
In spite of the fact they don’t get a good reputation they made a significant difference on the ZZR.
I’m not suggesting you switch as the callipers you have should in theory be quite the upgrade. Perhaps it’s the master cylinder/ calliper ratio that’s wrong and they were never intended for your bike from new.
