Yep good on him. I like Zarco.

Must say I object to Nito saying Zarco is on his way out further up the thread smile This weekend he was looking good, particularly compared to the other Honda riders (even if he didn't finish a race!).
Ah, but I didn’t. I’m a big fan of Zarco. I said “Morbidelli’s days are numbered and shame for Zarco too”. Shame he got wiped out by Morbidelli. He’s pretty much been the Honda’s highest placed rider. He’s probably the most humble racer in the paddock. I’d love to see him fighting at the front. He was superb on the Yamaha, I wonder what bike will best suit his riding style. He has more to give, it must be soul destroying circulating on that Honda.

KTM have already been told there aren’t more grid slots available for another team, so I don’t see any MV colours coming soon unless GasGas swap to MV. .
Arguably the most likely scenario, it's a lot more appropriate to Moto GP than GasGas which looks out of place given the type of bike they specialise in.

I miss-read shame for same! Sorry.

I think this it it for him now as far as rides in MotoGP. Couple more seasons developing the Honda.
No worries. Sadly, you're probably right, though I hope not.

Is he on a big money contract though? I haven't seen anything on it, certainly not FQ levels! He's a solid rider.

Rumoured to be double what he got at Pramac.

So plenty of zeros I imagine.

As per my earlier comment I thought the battle at the front was excellent. If it wasn’t for that though it would have been a fairly bland race as not a lot seemed to happened anywhere else. Martin fell off and everyone else seems to stay in position barring a few other crashes.

Two things about Morbidelli. Firstly, I got hammered for saying he doesn’t deserve the seat he’s got. He was average at best for most of his time at Yamaha (for the level he’s racing at) and his Ducati performance is pretty crap so far. Cue a loa dog excuses about his injury that those writing it would never have accepted as a reason for Marquez struggling over the last few years. Equally, there would be meltdown on here if Marquez had caused the crash that Morbidelli did.

A battle, we got a battle smile We got excitement, we don't really ask for much smile

Good fun at the front, Pecco just seemed to have that tiny little bit in reserve all the time. First 5 bikes all Ducati. On Frankie, am I dreaming or did he finish championship runner up not all that long ago ?

It’s just for when it does happen and Marquez does cause one, or is involved. There were a couple trying to pin Portimao on him.

2020.

This is his 7th year in MotoGP his performances have been. 15th, 10th, 2nd, 17th, 19th 13th. He’s currently 20th. It’s easier to argue that he is normally well down the finishing order with one outlier year. Yes the Yamaha has been rubbish, but it won the title in one of the years he was on it and he’s currently on arguably the 4th best bike on the grid. Maybe 6th best, maybe even 8th best but it’s not 20th best.

YEs, 1 of 4 2024 Ducatis, The other 3 are 1, 2, 3 in the championship with 70, 75 and 92 points. He's 20th with 6 points.

He's currently a day late - https://www.crash.net/motogp/results/1047643/1/202...

I do agree. Imagine if he'd pulled the same move as Binder in the sprint race?

On the other hand MM was fairly robust on his way back up the field after his crash out of the lead whistle

Franky missed half of '21 because of his knee injury, bike has been st the past two seasons, missed about 400 laps of preseason testing so has started his "last chance " season very much on the back foot.

That's the excuses "for", his move on Jack was st, he and Aleix deserved long lap penalties at Le Man's.

On form Franky is a hell of a rider, but someone's making way for Aldegueur, looks like he's het.

More relevant agreed, as it's ultimately a rebadging exercise it'll be determined by a marketing plan somewhere.

On Frankie, he would have been 2020 champ had Aleix not knocked him off. And Mir did win, how is it going for him since?

ref the Ducati, sadly, he missed about 700 laps on it in testing, due to his injury, he is bound to be on the back foot. Was quick today, showing promise in Cota, too. i think he will get up the field a little more next few races.

Would he do battle like Pecco vs Marquez, likely not even if he were up there, but he is no slouch. TBF none of them are.
And is his 24 ducati the same and Martin's? Who knows. But he is not miles on on laptime, just not used to being up the sarp end in races, and that will come I reckon.
This is likely his last year in moto GP, and on a top bike too. he needs to make it happen a bit to have a chance for 25 onwards.

The bigger issue for any manufacturer wanting to expand beyond 4 bikes is that at the end of 2026 the current bikes go in the bin and they'll need to build every rider brand new machines.

Fair play to Pecco for putting it up the inside of MM93, but I think any argument he has moving forwards about MM93 being to aggressive has gone firmly out of the window.
