BSB 2024 it’s race time
Discussion
The camera work from Navarra was very poor, Vickers save being a prime example!
How you cannot have a decent shot of the very last corner in a series like BsB that’s had its fair share of last corner action over the years, is utterly beyond me!
Some people who were there were saying, the atmosphere was amazing! ….there seemed to be absolutely no one there, so they must be Wolves fans.

Can someone please explain to me how FHO are probably the biggest spenders in BSB but their bikes are crap?
Honda haven’t done a lot better with possibly a bigger budget. There is definitely a sweet spot in budget vs team size and neither of these two have got it right.
Fundamentally though the Yamaha seems to suit the BSB format and is relatively easy to ride so the others are already on the back foot.

FHO is a different kettle of fish entirely, they are missing something fundamental in their set up and whilst Navarro is unusual, i think by round 3 we will have a better idea of what the season is going to be like. But there is something very wrong there as both Brookes and Hicky can ride a bike but something is definitely off at FHO.
Very lacklustre opening race.
Track is dull as ditchwater and one line for super bikes.
The quality of the camera work was appalling, the definition of the images was atrocious.
Ryde seems to lack some aggression when it counts, and he needs a big year.
Couple of huge crashes were very scary..

Whilst i agree with your idea and also that the R1 seems to be the most rider friendly bike, Honda have just needed a good rider on the bike and whilst anyone competing in BSB has to be good, some are just better than others. See Bridewell at Navarro, he was fast catching the top 4 before his linkage gave up the ghost.

Brookes never got the results at pbm though and that was a decent bike FHO is a different kettle of fish entirely, they are missing something fundamental in their set up and whilst Navarro is unusual, i think by round 3 we will have a better idea of what the season is going to be like. Maybe his heart isn't really in it anymore but compared to his days with Honda and Suzuki, he is waaaay way off the boil right now
Nice to see most of my thoughts are echoed here.
The TV camera's were I suspect a couple of Go Pro's or iPhones. I noticed that the gravel seemed to be higher in places than the track, a few bikes had rather big end to end flips/rolls once they hit the gravel.
I didn't think much of the racing, it well, crap and slow, if I wanted to watch stuff like that I'd watch my own YouTube video's.

Tom Neave apparently had 3 into turn 1, the last one was caught by the tv cameras and properly destroyed his bike, looked like i'd been riding itThe TV camera's were I suspect a couple of Go Pro's or iPhones. They were not. It was the full Cloudbass outside broadcast equipment from the UK. The same people who also do BTCC.The TV camera's were I suspect a couple of Go Pro's or iPhones. The gravel is too deep. Deeper than UK circuits and it did cause problems, as you say.
MSVR have a staged plan to change bits of the track, so it should be better for overtaking and have a bit more flow to it by next seasons opener
I’d assume it’s there to stay on the calender for a good few years, so should get better in terms of attendance each year
Personally, I’m quite liking forward to round 1 in the warmth next year, and would’ve been there with the team / my son this year if the electronics for the 2024 ZX6R Supersport bikes had been ready on time

Anyone been following the testing? It's all very close at the top, at times there was less than a second covering the fastest 15. For sure, we don't know who were running full race distances and who were merely popping on new tyres for three laps of willy-waving, but on the face of it it looks like being a very exciting season me thinks.
Edited to add...
Delighted to see there's free-to-view coverage on DMAX on both the Sunday & Monday from 13:00 to 18:00, in addition to the highlights on Quest at some point.

I’d agree. Top 10 is close. I still think you need a yam or Duc to challenge for the title.Gassing Station | Biker Banter | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
