212 with me on board and 217 with a midget on board, thats at Woodbridge so official, would have done loads more but it was pulling the limiter after the first 3/4 mile and I had over a mile to go still!! (thats MPH BTW!)

BTW - Stock geared bikes (Busa, zx12 etc etc) will not do a real 200mph without alot! of work. For a start the stock gearing will only give about 190mph when banging the limiter in top. A real 200mph compared to a speedo shown 200mph are very different in feeling.

Yeah, Ive noticed that (though going a bit slower!)

Ive done the mandatory indicated 186mph on my R1. The revs still climb after the speedo stops reading but Id still be surprised if it was more than 175-178 or so. But what you notice is the faster you go, the bigger the difference in speed feels between small increments on the speedo. Difference between 30mph and 40 = sod all. Difference between 160 and 170 = fairly big.

Exactly - had done 200 on the speedo on a zx12 but when I did 212 on the turbo busa it was in another ballpark - first time I ever thought - this will hurt if I come off!!
Mind you - some mad guy from the continent ended up doing 265!! on the day I was there... he did have trouble stopping though as went onto the cobbles and then the grass to stop. All this was on a road legal (ish) busa turbo as well, not a record as the track was not set up for two way runs.

Indicated 158 on my '98 R6. That was shortly after missing 3rd gear and shooting a 3ft flame out the exhaust at my mate behind me, chasing me down on his bandit 600

you must have been at Elvinton to see Frank run that speed then ,

he was pissed off because his gps showed he had topped 270 mid run but got wheel spin as he went through the timing trap smile

A mere 160 indicated with the bike pulling but me getting a bit scared. 08 R6. MCN had over 172 out one of these but I'd say that last 20 or so mph would take a bit of commitment and a decently long road.

Those early stock Busa's were good for more than 190mph. I was at Straightliners back in the day when one went through the Elvington trap at 198mph. If I remember correctly, a chick was piloting.

Dont go there, I had all the right gearing that day (geared for 255mph), fully prepped with race fuel and all checked (I thought!) and did 9 runs all within 2 mph, dialed in over 30psi and it wouldnt do more than 5psi! Spent all day trying to find the problem and didnt, then I got home, very pissed off and decided to check a bit deeper, found the up pipe from the turbo had not been clamped properly and was actually clamping the hose below the ally tube and as such the turbo was venting to air through a big gaping hole!! put it back on properly and took it up the A303 and ended up wheelspining in everygear as Id forgot to turn the boost down! eek
