Great though he is, Stoner does have the best bike, as someone a few posts up rightly explained.
lol, ok, so we've already proved it's not the fastest bike on the grid and we know its far from being the most nimble on the grid - so what measure of 'best' are you using? Nicest colour?
I just checked MCN, for the speed trap figures from the last GP.
Guess what? You're wrong again.

(Just for a change. LMFAO! biggrin)
So you're going to take the word of MCN over the official timing sheets? Comedy genius, sir!

Well, I hope Rossi takes the title. If not, then Stoner, anyone but Pedrosa. [I am a Moto GP fan, a Rossi fan and not a football hooligan]

Yes, okay, both publications i read are wrong and Stoner is one of a kind, with the worst bike.
Whatever you want to dream, matey. See it your way.

PS
Mamola and Doohan have both told me that they have Rossi as the best rider in the world, ever since the days of Roberts and Sheene and Rainey.

Dear lord, there's no need to be so defensive. I just think that taking figures from the official race timing sheets is the only accurate way to guage that particular statistic.

I've never said Stoner is one of a kind and I've never said he has the worst bike. I also believe Rossi is currently the greatest rider of all time. I also believe Stoner is extraordinarily talented and is well setup to be the next Doohan.

Rawwr, you keep saying that Stoner doesn't have the fastest bike on the grid.

Which particular race are you getting your information from?

I said he didn't at Sachsenring. I posted a link to a PDF of the official timesheet somewhere on this thread.

The speed trap is placed towards the end of a straight and sometimes in the braking zone so giving a false top speed.

So latest on the brakes has a higher top speed.

look, its widely aknowledged know that the ducati has an ever so slight speed advantage, but in the same vain the bike wont use it until it knows it has enough fuel left to finish the race, whereas rossis has full power from the off, just watch stoner on the warm up laps, as soon as they pull off his hand is up and he cruises round at the back to save fuel, also the yamaha goes round corners quicker and seems to be able to brake much later on the bridgestones in rossi's case.

as for the who's going to win the title, no one can say yet, yes rossi has a points lead atm but stoner is on fire and as someone has already pointed out he outscored everybody by nearly 100 points in the second half of last season, dani is out of it, by end of play sunday he will be 3rd in the title race and he wont exactly score well!!!

also to the person that beleives the mcn websites timings/ speed trap figures over motogp's own site.....are you mental laughlaugh

just one thing though guys,

dont count out nicky for the win on sunday!!!!

^^ 2nd in free practice yesterday !.. and of course, back at the place of his first MotoGP win. Could be right there Craig.

Watching Eurosport last night there was an interesting discussion going on between Mamola, Moody & Ryder about the recent developments in electronics. Randy was saying how the bikes are effectively programmed before getting to the track, clearly using GPS mapping etc, with the suggestion that the bike knows where it is on the track with appropriate power delivery etc for the turn coming up & so on.

Somebody has said to me that GP bikes now seem to be ahead of the F1 technology in that respect.
Any thoughts? (I'm in the camp of let's see the riders doing it -not the software engineers)
