With this grin on my face I passed to the bike shop who very kindly agreed to deliver my Burgman 650 Exec to the school. Following this I ride home. On arrival, it was the totally opposite story, I hate the things! You are going to kill yourself! Those are my worst fear! Etc…….
Hold on there a moment. Did you say Burgman? That's not a fking bike! Sounds like your bird should be binning you. Obviously she has great taste in bikes - poor taste in blokes.

Tell her I've a big throbbing Buell with over 100 American stallions at the rear wheel, and she can cum on it anytime yum

Thank you all for your suggestions, I seem to get the undercurrent that she should either like it or find something to do. Unfortunately her great sense of fear is something big. In more than one way I think I know what to do and I ma afraid for some that the bike stays.

The weekend outings and the camaraderie of the biking community is something that no matter what, I arrive at work with a smile and look forward to hitting the road again. Staying in all the time is too much; I think we can only do so much of it.

I look forward to perhaps finding the opportunity to go for a ride with some of you in one of the meets when arranged.

What are the chances of getting her on the back of the bike? I've found on several occasions that taking a "hater" out on the actual bike soon dispels their concerns - most of the time they really enjoy it and want one themselves. If she refuses to let you show her your riding and that bikes aren't quite the death machines she clearly thinks they are then she loses ground in her argument imo. There is the risk she really, really, won't like it if you take her out but then you can always revert to previous suggestions and bury her under the patiowink

Just make sure when/if you do take her out, that you ride like a ruddy saint! biggrin

OMG.....missed the Burgman bit...yikes

Have you thought maybe it's all because she's a touch embarrassed about going out with a scooter rider rather than a biker...laugh

this has made my day!!

I feel sorry for the abuse he's getting off us and the missus, but he could have bought a proper bike! If she don't like it ditch her. Shes clearly being too controlling.

Giving her the elbow....

i.e the movement your elbow makes if you were to draw an arrow back in a bow....;)
I thought it came from the stereotypical Spanish name beginning 'El' and a 'bow' being used by an archer.
Nevermind, still funny.

my wife keeps suggesting I get back to biking, which is how I know my relationship is at a rock bottom. She'd be quite happy if I did something stupid and she could legally claim on my life insurance.

For the OP, you have a G/F who blows hot and cold, but thinks she can manipulate you to be her puppet. Nothing to do with biking, everything to do with being a good thing you realised and found out before you went too far. Don't bother with the It's the Bike or you can leave, because if she gives in on this she'll only have you on this and anything and everything else over the next 20 years. Read the posts I've started and BELIEVE ME. Dumping is the only option.
