Had my DAS bike test today.
Discussion
I have been on this forum for a month or so, asking questions, answering posts etc...
I finally had my DAS test after 4 days training - 1 day 3 weeks ago and then 2 days over this weekend and then the test this afternoon.
I was crapping myself all night, this morning ride out was nice. Then I did a mock test with my instructor and totally ballsed it. Messed up my emergency stop by doing a stoppe, then locking the next time. Flummexed my U turn and started to feel the stress.
My instuctor Simon who is the guv'nor.. chilled me out took me for a practice and calmed me down.
I took my test and PASSED! I am so happy its untrue!
This has been a big ambition fufilled. Now I need a bike. I am thinking of Ducati Sport Classic 1000S but realistically its going to be a Suzuki SV650S.
Chuffed to bits. I'm a biker!

Thanks chaps..
I did my Test with Think Bike in HAM. They are good but crap if you have re-schedule any of your dates, however I think that's because they are crazy booked till October.
The best instructor there is Simon the Guvnor he sorted me out and got me through. He told me my riding capability was far above what was expected of me and just said I needed to chill out and relax.
It seemed he was right. The Tester was very happy with my ability and confidence.
I am so happy. Buzzing.
SV's.. I like the faired ones with the belly pan in blue or silver.

Cancellations suck asss!
We had some cancellations and a fail from another school. It was boiling today and I was sweating buckets.
Buddy thats just the bike I need in my life! Its perfect for me and has all the options I would want to spec my own bike with.
Its a shame I have to wait.. were moving house, with lots of remodelling to do and expecting our 2nd little un. I may have to wait a while yet before buying the bike, however I am going to hire one to keep me in the swing of things. Who knows I maybe able to score a half decent bike for a song.

My old SV:
Couldn't fault it as a first bike, I really enjoyed my time with her.
Couldn't agree more! I had one too (same colour and all) for the first 3 years of biking. It's plenty of power to learn to get used to but the handling and balance is spot on!Couldn't fault it as a first bike, I really enjoyed my time with her.

Damn I miss it!
You know the first thing I wanted to do was post on here as soon as I passed.
Chilli: The wife deserves the new house more than I deserve a Ducati. However if wew weren't moving I would buy it no question. There is no spare cash at the moment.
Still I'm going to look out for a 2000-2002 model for around the 1500-1800 mark and if I can I'll bag it.
I have still alot to learn about being a biker. I don't under estimate that. I don't want to get rusty.

Congratulations dude, well done
But for some strange reason, he's quite busy at the moment
Good luck with getting your first bike!

That's a great attitude to have - I believe we should never stop learning, Mr Rossi included. In fact, I'm sure my DAS instructor loves me - I keep on hassling him wanting to know when we are next doing some more post test training But for some strange reason, he's quite busy at the moment
Good luck with getting your first bike!

Easy answer - move out of your present house, into rented accomodation, buy in 18 months time when its lower than a snake's belly, and fund the Desmosedici RR from the price differential. Job jobbed If you want damned fine value, have a look at an RSVR - you'll get a better condition Aprilia for that lower budget than you will a Ducati...
