So im in hospital after I lost 15mm of the end of my finger in the OH's bike chain when I was working on it. I feel like a lemon and I am gutted. I also hate the bus (again) as I've been here for ages and apparently I could be waiting HOURS. I had to ASK for painkillers!

Doh.

I don't really know. Rag caught, then next thing I know, fingertip gone. So painful now the numb time has subsided! It happened JUST as someone arrived to look at our CG we're selling! So embarassing running down drive blood pouring towards someone you've never met!

Mate of mine chopped the end off his thumb cleaning his bike. Engine running, on centre stand and cleaning chain. Bike dropped into gear and took his thumb through the sprocket. Lesson learned.

To be fair it doesn't need a lot of hindsight to work out the potential for that one!

Yup, we did mention that at the time, and just about every time we've see him since. Trust me, the ribbing is way more painful than the thumb smile

Rightly so, it's because of fkwits like this that the rest of us have to put up with absurd levels of health and safety nonsense wink

A signalman I work with lost his finger doing exactly the same, then some time later he went to show his daughter the dangers of sticking your hand in a lawnmower when its still running - I'm sure you can guess the outcome of that one.

Hope it goes well. Cut the tendons in my left hand on a wine bottle a few years back... all takes a bit of time to sort out but you'll be fully functioning again in no time.
