Aprilia or Peugeot?
Discussion
Right will be getting a scooter in around 3 weeks and I have narrowed down to two different choices being a Peugeot jetforce or an Aprilia sr50r factory so I just wanted to know which one you think is best overall i.e. reliability, performance, handling etc...?
Peugeot Jetforce 50
Aprilia SR50 R Factory

I would go for the Aprilia, no question.
this is by far the most powerful in it's class. Handling is sublime.
you will have your knee dragging on the floor in no time. I would change the tyres for 2CT's for more grip, and put a spanny on it. This should claim you another 0.2 bhp easy.
the graphics are kewl, so you'd have to get leathers to match, and deffo a carbon fibre lid.
rumour has it that Rossi has one in his garage, but he has to hide it from Gerry Burgess, and can only go out on it at night for fear of upsetting Yamaha.

Do I hear a hint of sarcasm lol I just want to know which one is more reliable and handles better chiefly reliability as our lawnmower has a bigger engine and only need it to get to sixth form on and dont want something that breaks down. And with regards to the leathers and carbon fibre lid I think may avoid as don't want to look a complete knob and start coming out with this st some people at my school say like my scooter goes 75mph! when clearly it doesn't. Just want something reliable, nice to drive and that will serve me well for a year until i can get a 125. this is by far the most powerful in it's class. Handling is sublime.

Yes Greggy, you are correct in spotting the sarcasm. And here's me thinking it was masked.
I would expect they will be as reliable as each other. As for good to ride - well, it's a scooter, what are you expecting?
if it's only for a year, do you need a new one? Why not save a few quid and get a good 2nd hand one. Or are you looking at a dealers offer of new scooter/insurance/kit all thrown in?
You could always buy a scrapper and mod it up. you know, bling it.....
a bit like this. You too could look a bobby dazzler

Well nothing much realy just though they may be minor differences as some seem to have quite sophisticated suspension for what is a hairdryer. And with regards to new I am looking at used (around 2 years old or less) and these two come into my budget of around 800 - 1200 and seem to be similar insurance wise realy reliability is my main thing I want. I think you're gonna struggle to find someone on here that has ridden both, but they are by manufacturers that have a good scooter pedigree, so chose the one in the best condition for the money and that is the best advice I think you'll get.
I rode an SR125 once and found it kinda twitchy but otherwise a nice machine. Looks smart too.

To be perfectly honest and non-sarcastic, I think it simply comes down to whether you want a blue scooter or a red scooter. Apart from that, there really doesn't seem to be anything in it.
Who do you support?
.Who do you support?
As said above.
I had a 125cc ped when i was 18, & nearly all scooters of the same engine size, handle/speed/acceleration are all practically the same.
Unless you go for a vespa replica or something.
The Peugeot and Aprillia are going to be practically the same in every single way so as said above go for whichever one you like the look of best!
Don't mod it with an exhaust or change the gearing because 1. It sounds st & 2. you will look gay!
