Stoner has silenced me today smile he was a gratious loser and was the first to give rossi a genuine congratulations, he looked happy for him in parc ferme and on the rostrom too

i hope stoner concentrates on getting his hand sorted now so he is fit to fight rossi to the finish next seasion

well done stoner smile

great win Rossi, a true champion and Stoner a VERY worthy runner up "this time"

Sorry for being the cynic but what I saw today was an on form Stoner with no hand issue worthy of not racing. Which means they were sandbagging the other week.

As for today, I think Stoner is more relieved it's finally over and the pressure is off. He still had a little dig in parc ferme when he said of Rossi, "well he is an 8 times world champion". I took that to mean Stoner himself wouldn't praise him, yet the statistics are ok to do so. I think he's learnt a thing or two of Rossi then, lol. Face it, Australian's (and I'm generalising so forgive me) don't like losing when it comes to motorbikes.

Jesus Christ, you're never going to be happy, are you? I think you're possibly the only person in the universe who has managed to construe Stoner's comments in parc ferme as a negative. You really, really need to get over your Stoner issues.

Just to satisfy my boggling curiosity; what, in your opinion, should Stoner have said?

Yes you're probably right actually.

So how do you explain the Xray Ryder and Moody were discussing that apparently showed the staple that was holding his Scaphoid together had changed from a "U" shape to an "/"? I didnt see the xray personally, but I trust you will accept that messrs Ryder and Moody were not lying and part of your pathetic "sandbagging" claims.

Think before you speak.

If memory serves correctly, Rossi either didnt race or gave up at Valencia 2007 due to an injury he sustained in qualifying, so whats the difference?

Makes me laugh how so called fans, can ridicule one of the best riders in motogp we have seen for years, from his flipping armchair.

First off, a massive well done to Rossi for his eigth championship and making his mark as the greatest modern motorcycle racer ever! I can't help but feel vindicated in the Rossi Stoner debate, but I'm sure it will continue until the very end with the hard core Casey fans!
I think the difference between Rossi and Stoners injury is that Rossi broke his hand then raced a day later at the back of the field where as Stoner has a painful wrist from a previous injury that means he can qualify in 2nd and finish on the podium, and perhaps with this fixed would of cleared off at the front? But I think the answer to that is obvious now.

Crikey, some of you lot are cranky buggers! hehe It's all opinion.

Personally i'm not a huge fan of Stoner at the mo. He's fast but i think he's still quite immature as a rider, Which has come across in some of his comments.

I agree with RP in part that his 'praise' for Rossi did come across a little with gritted teeth.. However the Championship as been wrapped up now so its time to sit back for any remaining races and await how the cards are dealt next year.

I will say that the Ducati team do strike me to have traits like the Ferrari F1 team where winning may weigh slightly greater than sportsmanship and integrity and i don't think that helps Stoner's P.R.
Perhaps harsh but just a feeling..

All said and done, hats off to Rossi for having a real passion for the sport and coming back to win the Championship. Definitely one of the true greats..

And for what its worth, having watched the MotoGP race then later watching the F1, the F1 race looked like Scalextrix by comparison.

Opinion is one thing, making stuff up because you dont like someone is quite another. Ignoring your immature remarks and take your comment above for example, what traits exactly are you talking about that likens them to Ferrari? what has Ducati done in their short 5 year MGP history that has been unsporting?

ive only been watching bike racing a coupla years but how anyone can say stoner's a great rider when hes won so little is beyond me. ive took a look at the gp stats recently and a lot of people have done what stoner's done and then faded away for whatever reason. beemer 5 i dont think he does deserve credit either after what he actually said. rocket pepper is right he simply grudgingly admitted that after 8 titles rossi was a worthwhile winner. what he should have said was that the best man won the title and that he had been outridden this season and would be back next year to try and get the title back. something along those lines?

Seam to remember the Japanese bike manufacturers seeking an audiance with Dorna wanting a change in the engine rules because the Ducati was too quick last year.

Me thinks you need to back track ....

That's a pretty bizarre interpretation having just watched it again to make sure I remembered it right. Did he sleep with you wife or something wink

The gravity of the injury is not in question, there are countless situations of riders injuring themselves and finishing on the podium, Pedrosa is a most recent example and Lorenzo I think.
There seems to be a consencus that Stoner/Ducati have made up this story as an excuse, despite the facts proving otherwise.
Rossi was injured and clearly couldnt ride the bike, but jumped on to protect his 2nd place, Oh what a HERO!! Stoner is injured, (nobody knew of this injury until recently), he is a WHINGER for mentioning it, questioning his integrity.

Logical?

Stoner is one of the most committed riders on the grid, of that there is no question.

13+ race wins, 1 MGP title, howevermany podiums and fastest laps in 2 years, who exactly are you referring to when you say:

"a lot of people have done what stoner's done"

This should be interesting.......

ladys, gentlemen and critics, let me show you stoner being nothing short of gracious in defeat and accepting rossi was the best THIS season.
