Having had my heart set on an R6 for the last year I've now discovered that they are sooo uncomfortable I really must resist the temptation to get one. So there I was wandering around a very big bike shop this afternoon, and the only thing that stood out to me as being a bit different and worth a look was the B King.

Has anyone actually been on one? It does admittedly look very cumbersome and unwieldy...just wondering if thats the case? I don't want to book a test ride and then drop the thing on the way out of the forecourt...

Get a go on one.

A guy I know has owned all the sports bikes you can imagine , he rode one last week and chopped his K7 for one

Yep, I bought one when they came out last year. Looks mahoosive, but when you get on and rolling, the bulk disappears and it feels like a 600; until you crack the throttle.
Get rid of the hideous cans though. I put a set of Two Bros carbon cans on, which also gets rid of the tail-light and rear guard assembly. Whole thing must weigh >50lbs, replaced by about 15, with a neat LED tail light. Bit loud though.

Whats it like for low speed manouvres? The thing I really hate about the R6 is the handlebars hitting the tank with the slightest turn at low speed.

Chalk and cheese. I've come from a long line of sports bikes, and generally have had both race reps and nakeds at the same time. I've given up on sports bikes completely now as I've got older, and enjoy biking much more as a result. Generally, the fairingless bikes are way more controllable round town, and just as good on the open road.

I think it has 'presence' if you see what I mean and I like the brutal chunkiness of it. No idea what it is like to ride though.

a lot of people from the 14 club have tired them & most seem to say the plastic indicatorythingys on the tank are annoyingly wide & catch your knees if your tall.
me i've not tried it as they are too damn ugly & i dont fancy changing bikes at the mo.

Thanks all. I think after reading a few articles on the B King I'm a bit bit off...mainly by the low tank range.

I'm now swaying towards this instead, in fact I'm going to book a test ride for next weekend:

That honda's definatly prettier than the B-King. If you're after something a little different with insane torque have you tried an MT-01?
