Hi,

Does anyone own one? Are they any good?

They are very tempting at £400 - £600 a pop, even if they go bang after a year or so.

Does anyone else no where I can pick up a bargain, other than bidding on ebay auctions?

Thanks,

I have a 1989 Suzuki Style 50 for the station because expensive scooters I had kept getting nicked. Before buying I looked at the Kymco and other Chinese cheapies.

From what I read - Main issues seems to be around reliability and parts backup. Things tend to go wrong and then you can't get parts. Budget bits go wrong often and they only come with a 1 year warranty.

You see quite a few on gumtree that are very new and non-runners due to electrical gremlins.

In the end I decided on balance to get a cheap old Jap bike as spares are plentiful and they are a known quantity. Been over the moon with my £220 purchase ever since and the chav's/pikey's don't go near it!

I have a chinese honda xl 125 clone. Its only done 400 miles and if you look closely is looking very tatty considering its only a month old. That said, barring 1 badly installed speedo cable (kinked, snapped - not by me) its not had any faults and is turning in ~85mpg average.
