im going to be investing in some new kit as the boots and jacket i have i dont have a lot of confidance in, there ok but for a 600 i would like something that instilles a bit more faith.

what are vanucci like?
the jacket im looking at is this

its a vanucci Leather Motorcycle Combi Jacket

and the boots im looking at are a pair of sidi vertigo race boots

and a shoi raid 2.

how do they compair to other jackets/boots?
(i know the helmet is a pretty good one, a 4 star with the sharp rating)

Just wondering - for the sake of argument, would you fall off harder on a litre bike? Is that why your current kit is ok for a 600?

because there heavyer and can go faster. tbh just dont think that they are that up to the job anymore.

my leather jacket has stretched a bit and now the armour round the elbows does not fit too good and can slip round, and my boots atm are just some nice black leather ones with extra hard leather in the toe so will wear out pretty soon. really not built for bike use, more for walking/security boots

I'd either get yourself down to one of the bike shows or have a scan around Ebay. I've bought a good quality pair of leather trousers, and Sidi boots on Ebay for £25 and £65 respectively...and a fully armoured jacket from the NEC bike show last year for £30. I am looking to upgrade this year at the NEC (purely for fashion reasons), but you can get some serious bargains if you know where to look.

Yes thats always possible. The stuff I've had off there has been literally as good as new...a couple of my mates have had boots and leathers off there too...again, no complaints, good as new.

I have a pair of Vanucci leather trousers, probably 14 months old now and they're still as good as new. Much better condition than the Hein Gerike leathers I got at the same time.

I've got the vertigos and i'm impressed with them especially the calf adjustment which tightens down well.

Just get yourself down to a few clothing places like Hein Gerricke, J&S, local bike shops, and try the gear on. Ideally try and sit on your bike / a bike with the gear on. make sure it is all comfortable.

I was looking at those SIDI boots on Sunday at the BMF show. And although the boots were great my big toe felt like it was being crushed, tried the larger size and they were way to big. However tried the alpinestars SMXR boot and fitted perfect.

With the gear you have you have to be cormfortable and Safe.
