There's another consideration though Rach. It's obvious to those studying the data that the biker in question was acting up for the camera and not displaying his everyday driving manner. The problem of course is those of importance on the side of authority will claim this is par for the course no matter the camera. We bikers know this to be stupid reasoning, and so do they. The difference is, they can play on it whereas we can do little to counter it.
The proprietor of a bike shop near my place told me today that a friend of theirs had had his license removed, completely, for some sort of speeding/biking offence. Car and bike license removed, gone, finito, two year ban from driving, and he'll need to retake both bike and car test before he is allowed on the road again.
I hope they have got the story mixed up, as I never knew there was even a law that allowed the courts to do this.

Oh yes, for sure, I was naive enough to think oh well front facing Im OK (not that I ever do anything naughty) maybe once or twice at a push, but going through many times was asking for it and giving the authority more ammo to use against everyone else (if that makes sense?) No you're right. They do use it as ammo against all, even though this repeated offense is clearly about acting up just for the camera.
I'm still watching the video. The most apparent thing for me is the lack of experience of road craft he shows. Doing those speeds in those 30 and 40 limits is the actions of someone young enough to not know how mortality dawns upon us as we age. Hence young and stupid.

You only have one license (with several categories of vehicle on it) so if you lose your license through something you have done on a bike, you are no longer allowed to drive ANY VEHICLE on the road. (Push bikes excepted!) There is no ‘I lost my bike license so now I can only drive a car’ option.I hope they have got the story mixed up, as I never knew there was even a law that allowed the courts to do this.

In my younger, wilder days, I remember a mate (really) had exactly this happen and as he was a despatcher, so it was a bit of a big deal for him (poor soul's no longer with us now). He had the slowest bike of those he was with, so plod chased him home. He knew he was being chased, so headed off on a slightly different route to the others and was apprehended hiding in his garage with his bike making those tell tale ticking noises. The others got away.I hope they have got the story mixed up, as I never knew there was even a law that allowed the courts to do this.
He had to re-take his licenses and was creamed on insurance for many years too.
The incident made front pages of the local rag with the headline of 'Bank Holiday Biker Madness' or something, but fortunately pre-dated the net.
Having said that, '39' points is quite a tally.
