Brilliant bike, my wife had one as her first 'big' bike and it was a real hoot to ride.
Fast enough and handles well enough to harry other bikes on the B roads round here.
It did everything from 70 mile trips to the office to continental holidays.

Only sold it because she got an offer on a VFR she couldn't ignore.

Ive just sold my 650s to make way for the Gixxer.
Cant fault em for a first bike, easy to ride, easy to maintain, very rider friendly and more than capable of picking its toes up should you want to make progress.

I've got one as my first big bike, and so far I'm loving it. Great to learn to ride on and fiddle with to work your away around a bike. Predictable handling too.

Is the sv still changing to the "gladius" next year?

I believe they're running along side each other, rather than it replacing the SV...

Love it, love it, love it! I got mine because the research I did indicated that I would not get bored with it after a year or so and as my riding improved the bike would appear to improve too. Great torquey engine (a quarter of a V8 cloud9) that sounds fab, not the fastest but certainly fun

So easy and forgiving to ride, lots of adjustments you can make to get it right for you and lots of bling available too. Try the SV650 owners site forums over at http://forums.sv650.org for loads of friendly advice.

I hope this is true! I want an SV, but I want practise of a winter on a expendable bike before I get my first proper bike. If the gladius replaces the SV I will 'sadly' :P be forced into getting one now

I had one, loved it.

As Ace-T says, get yourself over to the Org. You will get a good bike if you look in the For Sale, well cared for etc. Just try to keep the salt off it in winter, hose it down etc.

Also, get some ACF-50.

SV is the winner everytime for me.

Put a Remus Revolution can on it. Pin it. Clean the jizz out your leathers. Crude, but true.
