£7600 on my first ZX6R in Jan 1998 (3rd G1 in the country - bought the week MCN got hold of the 1st in the country to test). No discount as it was new, but the free insurance (I was 21) and the 0% finance took the sting out of the toppy purchase price.

£400 for the bike, less than £100 on service items, scottoiler, bar muffs etc. I'm not charging for my own time, thankfully!

Runs a treat.

£6500 on a new BMW K100LT in 1989.

£7200 on my Firestorm back in early ’98.

I looked at buying brand new when I bought my current K1200S but I really can’t justify the depreciation that just about all bikes suffer within the first 1 to 2 years. Ended up with a bike that was 2 years old, still in superb condition, but less than half new price.

Similar.. bought my ZX-6R F3 new in early 1997 for £7500, got 0% finance and £275 heavily discounted insurance. First bike since passing my test on a 125cc late 1996. Got the Datatool alarm free as I'd not ordered it and carnell fitted it by mistake.

Two bikes stand out.

Just shy of £10,000 for Triumph T595 in 1997 - one of the first 200 made. Went into Wheels International (they still there?) to buy a sensible commuter to replace ZXR750H2 as I was moving job, they had a couple of 500's in there. Walked out with the 595. It was a moment of weakness. Divorce came through a little while afterwards........ But the bike was great. Jesus, did I take a hit on it when I got rid of it though.

Then £11,050 on BMW K1200S in 05. Every option ticked. Silly money but I have no intention of selling this one. (Except there is that new 1300 in the dealers.....)

Scott.
If its one thing you have to thank the parallel importers for its the fact they showed us how much the official importers where taking the piss back in the 90's and caused them to "restructure" their pricing pronto...

Anyway, most ive spent is 7.5k last year on a GSXR1000, dont often buy a brand new bike but it was a good deal,at the time, so I went for it.

Wheel Unintentional are no longer trading, thankfully but the former right hand man of the boss now owns Mission motorcycles in Bletchley.

£550 my first bike, heap of s**t.

It now has no MOT or tax and no key!!! It's not going well.

Need to get rid of it soon.

(hint hint)
what ya got, i like projects...
Yamaha XJ600, so I doubt its your thing. I just bought a new Ignition Switch and fuel cap with fresh keys, so they getting fitted. Then its time to look at why it won't start(overnight charge methinks, then see what happens). Then its time to look why it pcensoreds out blue smoke(no, not like a Red Arrow, the bad kind).

Then see what it needs doing to get it through the MOT. Then Tax it. Then run it into the ground again/sell it!!

blue smoke/wont start - probably related at a guess. oiled up plugs = no starting after all.
