Fast Bikes mag?
F!!cking legendary More Deathstyle Than Lifestyle
I used to subscribe to the mag and it was always entertaining. The graphic design was appalling - yellow writing on white pages and articles ending mid sentence and stuff.F!!cking legendary More Deathstyle Than Lifestyle
IIRC they were banned from borrowing bikes by Honda and BMW I think.
Also - it's where I first saw Suzi Perry. She used to do the little down the pub interviews with Shaky and co.
Whilst I accept the level of skill that is required to undertake such stunts, doing them on a public road (and filming them) shows nothing but a total lack of consideration for others from a bunch of selfish, self centered ‘school kids’. I’m actually very glad that the production of such videos (and the mag) have stopped as, in my opinion, this crowd were doing way more to ensure serious restrictions on motorcycling than any amount of work by ‘do-good’ operations like Brake or RoSPA.
One of them has a clip of an R1 flat out showing 190 ish just as a hayabusa goes flying past.
I know you shouldnt glamourise such riding on the public roads but seeing the guy backing in the hayabusa is absolutely amazing, especially since I have one and know easily a ham fisted bit of throttle can cause the back end to go bonkers.
Fair play.

Surely the whole point of the videos was about having FUN and larking about on bikes!! We seem to forget in this stupid 'PC', 'sanitised' and 'nanny-state' society about HAVING FUN!!
For many (myself included) this is what bikes are all about!!
I met most of the gang on a few occasions (once in France), and they were simply a bunch of guys having a hoot and (luckily enough) being paid to do it! If only....................They were not harming anyone, and they all knew the risks (to themselves)and were there by their own choice......
Anyone who 'doesn't approve' simply shouldn't watch the videos??????? There always were different types of publications for different types of biker, all those 'disapprovers' should just bugger off and buy their copies of "RiDE"...............

Anyone they happened take out on the way, even if it’s just the odd wing mirror, was an innocent party who had no choice but to suffer as these immature and selfish tts.
Finally, they hurt each and every one of us. Whether we like it or not, the people that make decisions that impact how, when and where we ride our motorcycles are, in general not motorcyclists. The stunts being shown on these videos look bad enough to those of use who have some understanding of just what a motorcycle can do and what level of skill is required to do such things but for non-motorcyclist, such stunts are simply stupid. The ever consistent answer by the Daily Mail reading blue rinse brigade to such things is to simply ban motorcycling universally. (See other threads running on this forum). That will impact each and every one of us.
If they want to ride like that, then that’s fine by me as long as it’s on a track occupied by others who fully understand what is going on and the risks that each and every track user is under.
Those who sanction such selfish, brainless stupidity on public roads should grow up and understand the responsibility that each and every one of us when we ride a motorcycle on a public road.

Doesn't matter what anyone says, these were a set of legendary videos. It's rare to see such balls and skill in the same place at the same time, normally it's either one or the other. Good stuff.

The daily Mail or the equvilant has been trying to ban bikes thru the back door with ever increasing legislative pressures for decades, it may well happen, that bikes will be banned but im afraid if were honest a lot of the appeal of sportsbikes is riding in a manner which may well be considered shocking to a Daily Mail reader , what the FB gang did a decade or so ago was put it to tape for the masses, which like Mr Ghostrider and more currently the youtube idiots have made even more newsworthy,I dont condone the riding,I think if were honest we all ride like a tt a fair percentage of the time when we are younger, age matures us (more or less!)and the risks and riding becomes more considered but the big mistake is putting it "on the record" via the web or DVD . In fairness to the FB gang that has to some extent be with hindsight.
I havent got a problem with stunting on the road, we all started that way or taking the piss now and again with speed limits but stealthy does it,a road legal exhaust would be appreciated more and furthur our cause to the average daily mail reader Vs. a dodgy biker DVD.

These vids were shot over 10yrs ago in the days when you could 'get' away with it. They helped sell a lot of Hyabruisers and R1s.
Some of the posters on here should go back go polishing their scooters and reading the Daily (schoolteacher) Mail.
The superbikes trips inspired me to go to France and further a field and ride some of those roads. My chosen pace on an (R1) is slightly slower..but would I am sure make some of you choke on your cornflakes.
If you never break the speed limit then lecture away from your sanctimonious pulpit to those that are interested

Plus don't forget the contribution they made to racing....without Fast Bikes initial support (Well done Mr Schiller) Shane 'Shakey' Burne may not have had the illustrious career he has had thus far..............
Those who call the Fast Bikes crew irresponsible idiots, should remember that the current BSB Champion was one of them!! Along with Rob Frost, Gary Mason etc!!
I've never seen those video's before.
(Until they were posted on here).
They are old you can tell that by the bikes / leathers / hair styles & video quality!
Yes they're doing some stupid stuff on the road, but they have more control on a motorbike i could ever dream to have!
Yes some of its irresponsible speeding wheelies etc etc.
But how many of you in a car have ever speeded?
I'd say 99% of you have flaunted the speed limit after you passed your test.
Some of you probably tried your hand at handbrake turns / wheel spins also.
I know i didnt as i never had a car license!
I feel more unsafe in a car than i do on a bike for the simple reason that car drivers don't pay attention as much as bikers do!

I mean basically i dont like being a passenger in a car!
Whether it be with friends or family theres not many people i feel genuinly safe with in a car.
My mum because she literally drives so slow she wouldnt damage anything if she banged into it & 1 of my mates who i've always thought of him as probably the best driver i know personally.
With everyone else i don't feel they're genuinly in control of a car, i.e. i think their observations are poor, reading of the road possible situations are rubbish & generally seem to being on a different planet whilst driving.
Maybe it's just i dont like not being in control!
