So Black-K1 said Me indoctrinated with antibike preconceptions ... your 'aving a larf!

- OK maybe you're not but you came across that way - my opinion......

BTW - I took the trouble to look at your old boys website and read the line "As, at one point, the speedo is showing over 160mph no information as to bike or rider is shown but they and we know who they are...8*)"

I do hope you gave your mate a stiff telling off as I bet they caused some some poor Magda to choke on her bratwurst with such naughty antics in the fatherland!

But hang on surely such an atrocity isn’t fit for public consumption - as you say about the FB vids?

Are there some dual standards being exercised here? or was your mate with the camera some BSB/MGP/WSB God?

As someone said - What a hypocrite, go and preach your b.s elsewhere mate.

Please explain at what point I have been a hypocrite? I have never had a problem with speeding (please read my numerous previous posts on the subject) within a degree of reason. (160 on a clear open road with good visibility would be OK in my books but 160 through a town – no chance.)

What I have a problem with is ‘dangerous driving’ and a lack of consideration for others. What I see of the FB videos are bikers who perform maneuvers that I consider to be clearly in the ‘dangerous driving’ category and a total lack of consideration for others be they other road users or those that actually have to pay for the bikes that the FB team managed to bend seriously at an average of 1 bike per day in the V-twin video!

I know it was about 10 years ago that these were filmed, but I thought the same 10 years ago as I do now. What the FB videos show (particularly the V-twin video) is excessive ‘hooning’ in situations that I BELIEVE are not suitable for such excessive hooning. .

There is a video on my profile of me a few years ago enjoying the superb roads in the South of France so anyone who wants to can see that I have fun on a bike as much as anyone else. I would suggest that much of that ride was … er …… slightly above the speed limit. (by less than 10% officer, honest!!!)
So what your saying is YOU BELIEVE they where being irresponsible at the time but your "naughty vid is OK because YOU BELIEVE as such..

Your not any different to the FB crew, its just that your little vid didnt make the public domain but both could be viewed as having the same impact to said Daily Mail reader

What a hypocrite, go and preach your b.s elsewhere mate.
What I’m saying is that the riding shown in the FB video is not what most would consider to be having fun but would actually fall well within the UK court definition of dangerous driving. I would be happy for a court to review my video with the only real fear being that I might end up with a speeding ticket. In my view that is VERY different!
You'll end up with a speeding ticket as you don't have the skill of Frosty and Shakey doing stand ups and rear wheel slides on a busa and black bird! These videos where superb, and also assisted me in buying my Gixer 6 and Y2 Blade as they ragged them through France in their videos, I see its already been mentioned about the crowd of people at the NEC around Fast Bikes stand laughing and chuckling at the behaviour of the FB crew...........

Those day ended now due to the usual boring factors of people like K1 oh no I take that back as you where speeding in France!

it was the way the Y2 fireblade stood up to the abuse that made me want it...the engine is honed from granit and loves to be spanked, wheelied and generaly bossed about like a good'un biggrin

yeah those days are well and truely over now

I agree - I bought the R1 after seeing from the FB crew what these bikes were really capable of. Calais to Cannes was a legend.
The vids sure helped shift some bikes!
Its all over now tho and isnt the world a safer place!

i loved the guitar rifts through the action....some pretty slick stuff from when people wernt scared to open it up cool

now riding at speed or arsing about on a bike is seen in the same light as mugging an old lady by some people

Yeah Some real characters too.
Whatever happened to 'Jimarillo' and who was the bloke who gave the monotone voiceovers?
Perhaps FB should do a set on back order. Perfect for those winter nights in the garage!

The chap narrating was Colin Schiller (Chiefy), who was also responsible for most of the music on the vids!

I have most of them on DVD now as converted them from my video copies.........whistle

You should still be able to get a few of them from Amazon etc? Just in time for Xmas!

Scott.

Even saw an old Performance Bikes Video for sale in a local Hein Gericke shop recently..........

That flip was filmed from another angle IIRC. The bike just ended up spinning and sparking down the road to where the others were parked up - just missing the R1.

Absolute quality - god knows what their insurance cost, the amount they destroyed, broke and crashed.

What is shown on the videos IS as bad as drink driving and should be treated in a similar way. In my view it is just as likely to end up with someone dead or hurt.
Oooh... you were doing ok right up to that point...

does anyone else remember the very first PB video that they showed on the stand at the NEC (it was never sold) it featured some guy cracking on a bit on a ZZR1100....it was the biggest crowd ive seen around a stand at any bike show cool no-one had seen anything like it before
cool

superb smile
That I do, Mark Forsyth rode the ZZR(and later binned it at high speed racing a bi-plane down a runway, as you do...) and I think Rupert Paul rode the very first EXUP in the same vid as well, im pretty sure it was on sale..
He was sat having a fag by the time Rupert arrived...

What was it like?

"Ow, my arse is burning" Bump, thrown in the air, "ow, my arse is burning"... Repeat till you stop sliding down the runway biggrin

That tune - I remember humming it on the M4 one day!
Picture this - just picked up the cbr6 from its first service with Gorgeous White and coming back on the M4 when I end up sat behind a rolling road block that then stops all traffic to retrieve some bits of mondeo from lane 3. As the boys in blue waved me off onto several miles of empty M4 I started 'humming'
- I don't normally hum that much when riding on the M4...
A classic.

Hey who see Frosty at the bike show? Did want to speak to him to see if he's doing the North West 200.....

Also ordered back dated Fast Bikes Magazines for when the 996 SPS was released and you forgot how good that lot was at testing, Frosty, Jamirallo, Shakey and Gary Mason, got them through the door at the weekend well chuffed......

Ha, the reason I don't ride a superbike on the roads anymore.

We used to watch these videos a lot, then as a group we all got superbikes from the day we passed direct access, it went mental, everyone was out practicing all the tricks then as a group we'd just bounce off each other and the level of progression and competition was ridiculous.

Been for a few trips off the road though. Packed it in after about 3 years before I ended up in a box.
