mine gets used for work everyday, goes touring & day out to play. no real interest in trackdays but i dont want/need to try offroading at some point. again not competitively.

oh & classics, guess what im working on this weekend to remove the evil 'upgrade' electronic ignition to fit a trustworthy points setup? (clue its not the 14)

Cant wait for the summer and the holidays. Usually we start here at May, but you never know, the snow might melt earlier smile

Hanging my head in shame, but my bikes are toys, pure and simple. They get used in the dry only (although that may change with the GSXR, as I'm itching to get riding again, and summer seems too far away). The Duke has a stupidly low mileage on it considering I've owned it more than 10 years.
I did have Bikes as my sole means of transport many years ago though, and have done the cold, rain, snow, ice stuff - not pleasant. I don't have to do it anymore, so I don't smile

My bike is my main transport and gets ridden every day, rain or shine. I have had it nearly two years and have only washed it twice. I did have a Vespa 125ET3 which I rode for 5 years and loved to bits but I got sick of having to fix it every week.

I have virtually no interest in anything other than British or Italian bikes, and whilst I would quite like a modern Ducati or a Triumph Daytona, I'd much prefer a Triumph Thruxton or a Moto Guzzi V7 Sport

I like loud thumpy twins, V or parallel, and think that 60s Cafe Racers were the zenith of motorcycle style.

The ultimate bike for me would be an Egli Vincent, Norvin, or Triton, but the potential unreliability scares me.

Quicker than taking the car right? Sounds alright, since I dont really consider my bike a toy either. It´s just something you cant really reasonably explain. hehe
On a good commute day and with commuter traffic definitely on the decline due to the recession, my bike is only a bit quicker than a car if I'm honest, but if there's an accident and traffic has invariably ground to a halt there's no contest.
I'm the worlds most impatient person, I don't do queueing and I don't do sitting behind slow traffic. If something is in front of me, I have an overpowering need to get passed and be in front.
I would go insane if I had to use a car every day! I don't know how car drivers do it?

Mate of mine is a foul-weather biker.

he cycles to work most days, unless the weather's st, then he takes the R1.

there be cafe racer kits for the new trumpets out & about, look pretty good too. that'd solve the 60s/70s bodgery type faults at least.

All weather biker here, although the bike doesnt agree with that! Its a Hongdou GY125 and only starts when it feels its warm/dry enough! Have to park it in my kitchen at night, and in the factory at work during the day, just so i can be guarenteed a ride home!!

Currently saving for a fine weather bike, but what with hols and other things to pay for, its going slowly. It will only be a 1-2k scensoredter, but it will be my scensoredter!!

In no particular order I love . . .

A Sunday morning thrash

A gentle evening 'bimble' (is that a word?!)

Talking bikes and general bks with biking mates

Sitting in the sun with a bike mag

Hooning around a track

Pistonheads BB

Watching others hoon around a track

Wheelies

Having a few pints at the pub while watching bike racing on the tv

Disappearing for a few hours into the countryside with no specific route

A real road trip

Admiring my beast after it's had a good clean and polish (ooer!)

Planning the next toy purchase

Backfires

Riding in pouring rain (it always makes me giggle like an idiot for some reason)

Planning modifications and upgrades

Dirt-biking (even though I'm crap)

Visiting the local bike shop!

No longer having a car

Riding in a pack

Riding solo

Hmmm . . . that'll do for now! Am I a biker?!
