I think George Whites are doing brand new K8model gsxr1000 for that sort of price with a load of free kit. Might be worth taking a look at their deals. They'll deliver to your door if you are not near one

I think they both look nice, the GSX-R with the Arrow cans looks good, it suits it. I love the look of the R1 though, I couldn't decide without a test ride so neither should you

All Yamahas are imports to the UK, they all come out of the same factory. so aslong as you have a full warranty i can't see any difference

It's not a manufacturer warrenty so you're relying on the discretion of the dealer, some parts are US spec specific so getting them means shipping them from the States and MOTing it might (not saying it will) be a pain due to some non-EU homologated parts (lights/exhaust/horn etc.).

California spec bikes also have a lower power output usually.

i win with my 14 i think. actually the previous owner wins, he got it with 120 miles on! that means the first owner didnt even use a tank of fuel before selling it!

I love GSXRs, especially K5s, but I cant help thinking that "everyone" has got one. R1 may not be as flattering to the rider as an equivalent GSXR, but that why I like them and people will respect you

Got the R1!
The one I was going to see that sold this morning, was simply stunning. Makes mine look rather plain, as it's bog standard. Now on the look out for cans, carbon, and black things!
