Got the R1!
The one I was going to see that sold this morning, was simply stunning. Makes mine look rather plain, as it's bog standard. Now on the look out for cans, carbon, and black things!

Cheers for all the advice gents (and Mitz!).

All Yamahas are imports to the UK, they all come out of the same factory. so aslong as you have a full warranty i can't see any difference
Then it doesn't matter if I mention it, does it wink

Nick, pics of the R1 please biggrin

Good choice, sounds just like mine. I'd go for Akra's or Graves, these guys have recently become the UK distributor: http://www.raceperformanceparts.co.uk/

Nice one mate, do love an R1 (bit too much for a newbie like me though), stunning bikes. So what decided it against the GSXR then?
Shame it's gonna be pretty icy down her next week. Roll on spring and grippy roads.

Ah, a fellow Essex man. Well, the mrs suggested that the GSXR looked a little....plastic-y??!! Plus I just couldn't learn to like the cans on them....even the arrow ones.

Weather is looking ste for a while, not that I'll have much time to ride in due course. Are you still riding?

clap Well hoo-bloody-ray he's finally been & gawn & dunnit.

Well done chief. Now you got to park your face up to the window every day looking out for nice enough weather to take the P & J out. (actually it's a lovely winter day up here in Lincs)

Good luck Nick.

(perhaps now we can all relax)smile

Cheers gents....Went and checked it was still in the garage this morning!
Andy, I know what you're saying, but would I be labelled a raving homosexual if I said I prefered the triangular Yoshi ones?! Actually, there's a set of those Akro ones on ebay for £600.
