Obviously "most" bikes still have pillion peg's & seat's bar the odd few sport's bikes.
A lot of the pillion seats seem pointless as you'd have to be a size 6 & about 5ft nothing to feel any sort of comfort on them.
I've only ever had 1 x pillion on my bike before as it's so dam uncomfortable.
My friend has a GSXR thou K5 & has taken his peg's off.
It does'nt make that much difference looks wise but i just wandered what the consensus was.
Do you leave your pegs on or do you take them off?
If you have a seat cowl do you have the seat cowl on or the pillion seat?

I actually had to buy the pillion seat cowl.. so its firmly bolted down.. THe only way to get rid of the rear pegs is to buy some rearsets which I'll do at some point... I dont fancy anyone on th back of the bike at all...

I always have the seat cowl on and remove the rear pegs as I prefer the way my bike looks without them.

I have a seat cowl and remove the rear pegs, with the underseat exhausts I think it looks much better.

Bin them. They look crap and I never ever take pillions. Lot of bikes have exhaust hangers as an integral part, but 30 quid gets you a harris hanger to sort that.

On my R1 I hate the look of the seat cowl, it's actually worse than the pillion seat, so I'm going for a one piece single seat road/race tail unit instead of the factory one.

Pillions are just freeloaders, tell them to get their own bikes hehe

Ha, well as i said i never take anyone pillion as it's hassle for me as they have nothing to hold onto!
I have the seat cowl on all the time, unless i'd need to put luggage on it etc.
But i do have the pegs on it still!

The only thing against taking the pillion pegs/seat off is the chance of converting future bikes. I have a number of friends who are now bikers who decided to finally take that step and become a biker after they had a pillion ride on my bike.

Personal choice, I've always left mine on for practical reasons. Take pillions every now and again. e.g. To be honest I'd prefer to be able to take a mate say who'd broken down on his bike in the middle of a mountain road in europe rather than have to leave him stranded there.

Removed mine and fitted a single-seat unit, however it can be converted back in a matter of minutes if needed but I probably never will.

keeping them on the 14, its a good bike for pillions - not that i take many.
single seat on stroppy though so no point in having them.

Buy a single seater, all ethical problems removed.

And best of all, have a new persuasion project underway with the OH. Obviously it would be nice to take her out from time to time, and the back of a Blade (as a second bike, natch) is a comfy place to be...

Removed the bh pegs and keep the single seat cowl on at all times.

Looks better and stops people bothering me for a go on the back!

I keep the pegs for the moment of the basis that they're a good insurance policy sometimes, like the time when a prick drove into the side of me and the pegs stopped their offside wing from wrecking my tail fairing. I like that!

I do however on the TT have a cowling and think the bike looks the dogs with it and whilst it's small enough to pull off and put in my backpack, I very rarely need to as I don't carry pillions much (the girl doesn't like my riding!).

yikes Only if she has a concrete backside! My mate took his woman for a 10-miler on the back of his Blade: she got off and said 'That's the last time' and has never been on it since! I suffered it as far as the pub once; ten more minutes and I'd have needed surgery...

Pegs on, cos they are more of a pain to remove, but I use the seat cowl when pillions aren't on the bike, since it & the rear seat are interchangeable.

Pegs off, stupid enormous plastic number plate thingy off, nice new exhaust hanger, and why didn't they make it like that in the first place?? biggrin

Looks 100 times better IMO. In fact, the first K6 I bought, I had all that done in the shop before I collected it.

Taken mine off. All of the ancillaries on ZX7R's are massively over engineered. Harris lightweight exhaust hanger, no pegs and a single seat cowl. No pillions for me!

This is why I leave mine on too. I'm not that bothered about the cosmetic aspect so the ability to help someone out takes precedence.
