My take on that was he delibratly didnt give it everything off the line on purpose for the sake of the film...

Busa's handle very well for their size, the brakes are maginal but I passed many a sportsbike rider on mine at Rockingham..On an open A road there a match for anything.

Ah ok i read this on a forum the end of Oct last year...

Just been set by Andy Carlisle on the Fast Bikes GSXR600 K6 (or K7, it's nicely trick). Which has had a certain amount of black magic engine trickery done.

7:17. On shot tyres. As usual. Probably found em' in a skip.

Followed by a 110mph high-side.

He's ok apparently, scant details at the moment. I'm hoping his on-bike video setup was working, as he's got a good, discreet, HD cam set up with front and rear cameras.

Won't officially count unless it's filmed or data logged i'm led to believe. Fingers crossed

Yes I know Andy C & thats a BTG time so not a full lap, but indeed with that worked out should be swifter that Helmut Dähne the official full lap record holder at 7.49 (way back in 1993 on an RC30!)

However still somewhat off the fastest car lap at 6.11 eh.

Not a toring car as such (about 400kg too heavy for a start), but a 'DTM' edition of one of the hardcore AMG mercs. Around 582 PS and about 800NM of torque. Plus, Sabine is a tad handy behind the wheel. The busa was partly slow off the line, plus had to wait for his turbo to spool up. Even given the bike's mass, he didn't look particularly fast. entertaining though, especially his 'tache/goatee combo.

bit worrying to see him pop it up, then lock the front end, come to a standstill, then remove his lid - i.e. helmet not strapped on....?
