Sorry, just feel more 'at home' in here so here I posted. smile

Like the Pub, rather be with the bike types than the guys wearing nylon Subaru jackets...

I wouldn't like to subject him to the abuse.

Robsa are you really "Mr Disgusted of Tonbridge Wells"?

don't like it, don't watch it.

Top gear for me gets better and better. Not seen a crap episode for a while. Just because it used to be more focused on facts and cars doesn't mean thay have to stick to that. Its a good mix of humour and engines if you know what I mean.

Richard Hammond can be annoying but other times I don't mind him. Still one of the best BBC shows around at the moment.

I love tg but james may is the only one with real knowledge or the only one who doesnt play up for the show, theres too much entertainment now, not enough facts... your telling me a man like JK who has done all these episodes on all sorts of vehicles from all around the world driven everything imaginable including powerboats, snow-mobiles even bikes doesnt even know how a engine works or how to use a screwdriver?

The presenters are great, and so balanced in the personalities (on screen) but i watched james may program the other day was about new ideas or something it was great.

Yes, well, I could have started a thread telling everyone that I am not seeing a girl tonight because I have a cold... except I'm not that desperate.
Good job you posted on here and not P&P.
I take it I everyone loves TG then?! Fair enough giving me stick, but what was everyone expecting from a thread called "Top Gear - a rant"?!
We was perhaps expecting or hoping for something interesting ?..I dont love it but it doesnt muck up my day enough to read all your blurb..

don't all hate me for this, but it seems that the younger you are the more you like it. most of my mates and I really enjoy it, but my dad and loads of guys i work with hate it? Is that just me?

I'm 21 and love it, dad is 50-something and hates it.

Anyone else notice this? If not feel free to berate me with insults and youth propaganda.

Have you watched an old TG episode on you tube? I promise in a shorter time than it took to get bored of the op, you will be more bored by the old TG. How interesting is it seeing in the boot FFS, which the old TG showed you in great detail.

The new TG is a light entertainment show based loosely on motor vehicles. Nothing more, nothing less. If you want to find a review on a car, then EVO is probably best. Bikes then there are the usual candidates.

The old one is and was st, know one watched it which is why it was canned. The new one is so popular that the BBC is almost embarrassed, which is why it is still on 2 and regularly gets more viewers than the programme on 1. 9m I think the best episode got and the drivel called Eastenders only gets 11m.

A "TG is crap" rant.

Thats a turn up...
Well, I did do a search first and didn't see much about it.
Next time, try typing 'Top Gear' when you do a search. There are threads identical to yours EVERY BLEEDIN' Sunday night when a new episode shows, time and time again.....ad infinitum.

In a programme called "Top Gear" i'd probably expect it to be car related which it is!
I'd much rather watch a programme about supercars & watch their challenges as they're entertaining.
If i wanted to know the spec's of a ford fiesta i'd log onto the ford website & download the spec sheet!

Surely TG is now just "entertainment" , i certainly dont see it as a factual informative programme , i enjoy watching it as it makes me smile , they take the p1ss out of each other ( albeit scripted )and generally behave like spoilt schoolboys ( again scripted ) but it's a laugh and that's whats needed on TV at the minute . Oh , and Hammy doesn't get on my nerves either . Point well made in original thread Robsa but IMO your talking bollicks .

I'm with the OP. It's st. Same old re-hashed jokes that weren't that funny first time around. Over-inflated ego's. The challenges are boring and predictable and so in the script for a lead on to yet another re-hashed joke. Can't be arsed to switch it on anymore. Bor-phuckin'-ring!
Oh, and where do they get the audiences from? Are they the left overs from eighties 'Top of the Pops'? Who seem to laugh at anything Clarkson says in order to get in shot on TV. Sad.

Yeah because Clarkson obviously hasn't been a motoring journalist for hmmm....a few years so I guess he really is pretty clueless when it comes to cars!!!

Nothing to do with whatever the point he is trying to get across at the time - much like everyone gets really mad when he says 'torques' to be honest I would be pretty suprised if he didnt know his Nm's from his lb/ft's !!

bales read my post again thats exactly what iv said he acts stupid for the cameras in light of entertainment but he shouldnt hes been doing motoring shows since befre i was born i think, so needs to stop acting stupid because ou dont spend all your time with cars have a real passion about them then not learn a thing about how they work.

Totally agree Robsa - I wrote a thread on here once saying is just me or is TG sh*t and you wouldn't believe the abuse. Don't get it myself everybody's allowed their opinion and even if you think TG is the best thing since sliced bread and doesn't need a second look, surely there's no need to abuse an author of a thread just because he has an opposing opinion - that's what democracy is all about isn't it?
