I'm getting kinda tired of camping now. Must be getting old.
I think any tours I do this year will involve B&Bs and Hotels
less stuff to carry too.

It was the cheap Formule 1 type hotels in France that converted me away from camping on a bike. Warmer and drier than a tent, with clean sheets every night, yet without the requirement to carry loads of luggage and only very slightly more expensive than the pitch at a decent camp site.I think any tours I do this year will involve B&Bs and Hotels

ive done this on my scooter 3 days brilliant fun, just had under seat storage and a plastic storage box straped on the back as a make shift panya. just took gas stove, frying pan bacon, sasuages, loaf of bread, 1 change of cloths, camping mat, sleeping bag and 2 man tent. 240 miles over cumbria yorkshire in 3 days brilliant

Treat them like a step up from camping, but not quite B&B and they are fantastic, just don't expect them to be a "proper" hotel.

They ARE ideal.. a group of us used F1 hotels on the way out and back from a week's trip to the South of France.

Aren't most of them in pretty dodgy areas? I remember staying in one in the South of France years ago and the are looked dodgy as hell. A world away from the image the area usually conjurs up in the mind.Treat them like a step up from camping, but not quite B&B and they are fantastic, just don't expect them to be a "proper" hotel.
