sprinter1050 said: Ouch !! How's he recovering? Physically, he has some fierce scars including facial scarring, but chicks dig that. No belly button look wrong though! They are still looking at his left arm as he cannot raise it more than level with his chest. No pain, just doesn't work - looks like nerve damage or shoulder lock or a bit of both. He's still off work as he still has quite bad short term memory issues due to the head injuries. He's desperate to go back as he's not being paid. Dr's have said January, but he's planning to go back in October. Unfortunately he has a client facing job where being able to remember a conversation you had 10 minutes ago is important, so no-one's sure how that's going to work out and improvement seems painfully slow nearly 4 months on. I still get to call him Eddie (Kidd) though so at least his sense of humour is ok.

Difficult to say - given the brain bleeds and the spinal fluid issues he had from the size of the impact with the lamp post, a stronger helmet may have passed more of these forces on rather than breaking. Or it may not have - there were no other cracks etc on the rest of the helmet. Or it may have broken in the same way? The only thing we know for sure is if the helmet had been open faced, there wouldn't have been much of his face left. All of that discolouration on the cheek piece and the dark runs on top and side is all blood.

It's a Very Bad Thing that I prefer this to a reliable sports bike.. as there is danger ahead that I may have to get one. That's fantastic. IIRC they are 2 wheel drive with the side car! I believe so too. But we'd better get that picture off here quick before young Bobski gets all hot under the collar over it. (he was tempted when he was part Russky ) There's one here with a gun! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/dnepr-ural-cossack-sidec...I think there is a lever to engage 2wd. There's a website called sovietsteeds that has a few stories on it - proper old school stuff with running in a tight engine, much spannering to keep it all going and a fanatical zeal to run an interesting bike instead of one that just starts and stops when you want it to . Time travelling back to 1960s Russia.. Awesome stuff, I am indeed getting moist with the thought of one of these beasties as a daily ride. I should have bought one when I was in Russia...

Been doing some calculations, i can get the swingarm off this with axle stands under either side of the frame just below/behind the pegs. Got to grind any excess bits off the rear triangles first then pull the swingarm off and grind it back. Opinions on doing it silver/black?

Its a 2 stroke exhaust, has an expansion chamber and has an optimum overall tuned length to give the best power/performance based on the pressure waves coming out of the engine. Added: Ideally it would be straight but then you'd run into trouble of it sticking out too far from the rear of the scooter i.e. dangerous in the eyes of the law.
