Does anyone have any clever tips on how to keep the bd things in?!
Wear a thin beanie over the earphones under the helmet? Would only work if it's cold out…

I have to adjust my ever-so-expensive Ultimate Ears earphones quite often when I'm walking along (if you lose the seal you get naff-all bass and that is rather annoying!) so couldn't imagine being anything other than distracted/annoyed by them on the bike. I'm too much of an audiophile to ride along not being able to hear each note. Triple whine will do for now!
Do you have the squidgy type ones? I was about to buy some for this very purpose (riding that is) but if they fall out when walking about, then maybe I won't bother.

the Squidgy ones ith monitors are even more ever-so-expensive, but in for a load of money....in for a pound.

I've got squidgy ones, like the ones in the picture above, round bits of rubber. I'm thinkin I might try taking the rubber buds off and getting some of that ear plug wax stuff and moulding it around the speaker of the headphones and seeing if that makes a better, stronger fit than the buds.

Why not the old favourite that I keep harping on about-Cardo Scala rider with in built radio or blue tooth it to an iphone.

All wireless & no need to worry about additional headphones rolleyes

Sorry -I'm a logical sort of chap me.
+1. I even use mine with ear plugs in and I can hear music/radio/phone fine below 80.

didn't I read about someone on here who got them moulded ear plugs with built in headphones?
I'll always wear regular disposable squishy plugs except for every now and then if I'm out for a stress-relief hoon i'll put something heavy on.

I use the standard iPod ones, my Sennheiser ones refuse to stay in position when I put my helmet on, no matter what I try.

I've been using Cardo Scala Q2 for directions from my Tomtom rider 2, phone and ipod via fm transmitter - I wear earplugs as I mostly commute up and down the motorway everyday and there is no problem with the volume even over 70mph.

that latest model has a direct connection for an MP3 player that negates the need for an fm transmitter for my ipod

So you wear earplugs and then have the speakers over your ears? Can you hear through the plugs?

Just checking you weren't referring to the speakers as plugs! Must be pretty damn loud speakers!

Seinheiser- not sure of the model, but they were about £40. The company make hearing aids too, & so far they are the best headphones I've ever used.

They do block out alot of outside noise & wind noise- if you pick your ears lots & have reamed out holes the size of your manly digits, 3 sizes of rubber bungs are available to stop them falling out.

They give great bass without distorting.

I only have my MP3 player on very low, which lets me hear the bike over the music.

ETA, but have turned it up to 11 when RATM comes on. It's not good for your life expectancy, as said above, you'll die to deathhehe

You can get these on amazon for around a tenner. Dont understand why they are so much more in Dixons etc.

Sorry if that pisses you off.

I've just fitted on of these to my C3. I've not had a chance to try the VOX dialing with my iPhone but the fit and general sound quality is superb.

That looks pretty fantastic, I imagine it costs a fair wedge though?

yes Indeed it did. I was using the Scala Rider Solo with my C3 so when I read about this gismo, being Mr Gadget I just had to have one. At the time I couldn't find a UK supplier so I ordered one from here

I've not had a chance to try bike to bike but I have used it with my iphone & Satnav and the sound quality is the best I've heard. Bear in mind that not only is the C3 very quiet anyway, there's a pre-formed indentation for the speakers so getting them in the perfect position for optimum performance is simple.

At first I did find it a bit tight around my neck but now it's bedded in it's fine. I still need a bit of practice using the controls but I'm getting there - winter gloves don't help

I'f you want to try mine before you commit drop me a mail - I'm sure we could sort something out.

it has auto volume control as well - gets louder with speed which is very handy with an unbaffled akrapovic can.

Had phone conversations when travelling at decent speeds and the mic cuts down wind/engine noise so that anyone calling would not really know you're on a bike.
