Bikes are slow...

Gentlemen & any others, read only the first 2 pages, quick search of like for like laptimes F1 vs Moto GP - F1 (Hamilton & friends) circa 1min 30, Rossi et al over 2 mins. at Suzuka.
On the A'bahn, I've found that bikes kick arsch in acceleration ( obviously), but above 230 km/h or so, they move over to let cars by. Observed numerous times.
Lots of situations where one or the other (bike/ car) will be quicker.
At an average of just over 1 post a month in the last 5 years, June must be a very slow month if this is the best you can do!On the A'bahn, I've found that bikes kick arsch in acceleration ( obviously), but above 230 km/h or so, they move over to let cars by. Observed numerous times.

Bikes are faster than cars! Any bike doing 71mph is faster than any car doing 70mph!!!!
Of course, a car doing 72mph would be faster still .....
I'm fortunate enough to be spending the next two days with a Ferrari 488. Imagine S1000rr speed except wincing through every tight road, cringing through width restrictions and struggling to get the view for overtakes because you're so low. Unbelievable pace for a car though. Also it's £290k after options.
And that's the rub isn't it: Even if I had a car as fast as my bike, it still wouldn't be as fast as my bike... On any real road with other traffic, restricted vision, bumps and normal width lanes.
I've safely carried out thousands of overtakes on my bikes that simply wouldn't be possible in any car but which are easy on practically any bike.
I also get out of the way of Captain Cockwomble on the motorway – not because I can't go any faster (one's moteycycle would still outrun most cars even there) but because I don't want a speeding ticket for waving my willy in the face of some Audi mounted Bell End.

Its fairly self explanatory ..
99% of cars are basically fridge freezers. A top of the range washing machine makes me feel more alive than an average POS traffic car. There is no comparison between car and bike for fun. After two hour honeymoon period with a car it's basically a box with wheels that's gets you from A-B.
Only good cars are limited editions, lightweights and super cars.

I have a quick car and a limited edition convertible with shouty na engine and they are fun...but not nearly as much fun as even my 15-year-old 600cc CBR, not to mention my 15-year-old 954RR.
Just today I was commuting on 954 (600 was getting new tires) through slow city traffic in 30c no-wind weather, sweating like a pig (even though only wearing a shirt and cycling windstopper over it) and getting a first degree burn next to my right knee (because 954 hates crawling at 10mph for extended periods of time and makes you aware of this), that kind of adventure you don't get in any damn car...ok, maybe in a Viper, but only because you don't get out of it the right way.
