Thanks all, perhaps I'll have a pop at changing the clutch myself and will report back accordingly...

If you haven't already, I'd try adjusting the cable before pulling the clutch out, simple things first and all that jazz! wink

clutch change is an easy job on a bike.

Lay it over on it's side,
like so...

I used that trick when I had to fix the engine cover on Tori's bike. She freaked when I sent her the photo of it!
I remember watching a Loctite Yamaha mechanic use the same method live on TV many years ago.

I wish doing the clutch in my car was that fking easy!

It's how I sorted the wiring on a mate's YBR125 once, I just laid it on the seat. Got funny looks off cars as I was doing it in the road.

You can change the clutch on a Fazer 600 without leaning it totally on its side, If you put both wheels on a plank then put the bike on its sidestand it will lean over far enough not to lose a drop of oil.

It's one of the easiest jobs you can do on a bike, you can probably get away with re-using the cover gasket if it comes off in one piece, make sure you replace the steel plates in the same order they came out, and don't overtighten the clutch cover bolts as they snap all to easily if you're over enthusiastic with the wrench smile
