They ran the Electric bikes at our last meeting at Brands. I think they are called TTX’s??
They actually look okay, but imagine watching a race with 20 bikes stood at Druids. The only thing I could hear was the Marshalls taking the piss.
Brands only ever goes that quiet when there has been a stoppage due to a bad accident.
It’s not the way forward.
Au contraire. By far the biggest barrier to motorsports venues these days are noise regulations, so electric bikes might be the biggest step forward club motorsports and track days will ever make. Battery life is increasing exponentially year on year though, so it won't be long until it's a viable alternative. As mentioned though, part of the buzz of biking for me is the noise, however unsociable it may seem to others, it's programmed into me as a bloke.
I was there for the first oil burning Audi's at Le mansIt was like a ghost going past compared to the astons and vetts
the noise is a big part of going to watch racing for me
As said the lack of petrol engine screaming was disappointing... But I quite liked that whiney engine noise, it sounds a bit like a supercharger. It's not as nice as a petrol engine, but it's better than expected, much better.
Clearly not bad power wise and it'll probably be made better in the future with better battery life.
Still not as good, but not bad at all.
