Filtering, why don't learners do it?!?!
Discussion
I commute every day, the same route at the same time. As I pass the stood traffic I alway pass a couple or 3 learners on scooters and a one on a 125. Having been behind them whilst in the car, I know that they sit in the 1/2+ mile tailback for 10 mins. I don't recall being told not to during my CBT, is it personal preference or just not advised?!?!

Insurance? I could imagine insurance for a Learner Rider company would be pretty pricey, so it may be underwritten into the policy from the start.
Isn't it automatically deemed 50/50 in an accident?
Guy I work with has just had to accept 100% for a filtering accident, where in reality it was simply the tt in the car didnt look in his mirror before pulling across to the next lane, but because my mate hit him in the side and not the rear he was deemed to be at fault for some reason......Isn't it automatically deemed 50/50 in an accident?

Sod Learners - Why doesn't anyone in the whole of Norfolk do it?
Oi! I remember being encouraged to filter, even on my CBT, let alone the DAS.
Agreed though - the amount of people who just sit in traffic is just bizarre. I tend to give them a little wave as I roll past...

Filtering is overtaking and undertaking so surely its at the filterers own risk? especially as cars changing lanes without looking properly is a common event in a traffic queue. IMO some people filter way too fast
Agree that people do filter too fast... but it shouldn't be at own risk as it is allowed in the Highway code:http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/TravelAndTransport/Hig...

... Additionally, when filtering in slow-moving traffic, take care and keep your speed low.
It was never talked about of shown in any of my training for my licence. I did it as a learner though and frequently passed riders on bigger bikes sat there in the mile long traffic. Surely they must of twigged and try filtering after a piddly 50cc went passed them with L plates plastered all over it?

The other vehicles have a duty to look were they're going. gr88 said:
