Have started fantasizing about it in green. Don't think I'll be getting one anytime soon tho - I think its more of a second bike (or to be blunt, an old man's sole bike) and I can't afford to run two machines atm.

Perhaps its just my McQueen fantasies, I dunno as I'm sure its nowhere near as good to ride as a modern superbike or even a Honda Hornet.

Anyone ever ridden/own one?

Cool as feck

Certainly won't handle well, or be very capable off road but I can imagine its great on a b-road run.

As an old man I have to say it's a great bike, I had one and was as cool as McQueen !

I much prefer the Thruxton - reckon the Scrambler is just a little too big to carry off the Scrambler look.

There's a 'semi' inducing Matt khaki green one in my local dealers and I'm really temped, SWMBO isn't mad keen on me spending £6500+ on a bike right now though. Oh well, I'll continue to dream.

I have one and I wouldn't call myself old wink

Bought new last March and 1800 miles on it now due to too many other toys and working away a lot.

HP might not be high if you want to quote numbers but it has bags of bottom end grunt and the Arrows 2-1 gives a wonderful soundtrack (especially with my modified baffles). You are buying 2 cyl grunt here not 4 cylinder sewing machine whine with more horses than you can ever use.

Build quality is very good IMHO and up with Honda even when large chunks are fabricated in Thailand.

Ikon ajustable rears and front progressives already fitted and better than std (but I'm fussy). Now waiting for the warranty to expire then ECU remap along with pods and AI removal is on the cards smile

Same happened to me; I purchased (it really is a stunning colour) and haven't looked back!

Look on Youtube.

There are some interesting videos of the scrambler and comparisons to the new Ducati Scrambler.

The triumph comes out really well.

Quite tempted too...

I had one for 18 months. Ordered with the Arrow pipe and single seat, in grey. Changed shocks, mirrors, lights, handlebars, filler cap, levers...the OEM shocks are just dreadful.

Yes it's cool and I had no reliability issues. Low end torque is excellent, and with the Arrow you liberate some HP so it can pick up fairly well. However it's heavy, and quite agricultural. For weekend blasting it's great, and you get people smiling and nodding at you, but it doesn't handle well and that bothered me enough in the end to sell it.

I had a green one from new around 2007, lovely bike fitted with the extra loud exhausts, sump plate and extra chrome.

Lovely machine.
