After much soul searching with this I have decided to part with Justin, for those that don't know him he is probably the rarest Viper in the world.
My intention is to ship him back to the USA and offer him through Chuck value is perhaps as much as 100K in US Dollars.

tough decision Paul, is Justin a Chrysler?
i just mention that as you may need to get a 'certificate of conformity' off Chrysler UK to clear US customs, crazy i know...
do you remember Phil Buffery (red/white Roe S/C UK press car, the viper that held the fastest towing record) he had that problem when he moved to Florida, his Chrysler GTS was stuck in customs for over a month while the correct paper work was sorted, and it ran up a big bill

Yeah, I'm sure VHR was hit with loads of extra costs when he took Blo3 Job to the US.

Actually there are no extra costs from importing your own car from the UK to the US despite the horror / scare stories you hear.
Obviously Paul's situation is different in that his car is not coming here to live with him but is being sold but I think the situation would be similar, wnhe the car is imported you have to complete a declaration.
The new owner would have to pay sales tax in their state but that's true for any vehicle purchase new or old.
Regarding costs, obviously as a non-runner my car went in a container and I used a company called Mellfields in Southampton and it cost about 1500 quid from Southampton to Norfolk, VA. Given where Chuck is to NY would probably be cheaper.
Then the fun bits start: over here they charge you about $300 to x-ray your container which is random i.e. sometimes they do sometimes they don't unluckily for me they did! You also get hit with unloading fees, warehouse fees, dock fees, cock fees (okay I made that one up) and anything else the agent thinks they can get away with charging you. In essence allow $1500 charges at the USA end and that should cover it especially as it's a US built car. One thing that would be good if you have it Paul would be the original title if the car was registered here in the USA, before it was given to JB.

When I imported my car to the UK and got it registered with the DVLA, the DVLA would not let me keep the original title  they destroyed it I do have a good colour photocopy though

As it would appear the dreaded C has now passed to my brain, reducing my time even further Justin will now be placed in the adverts next week I paid Steve over 50K for it but I need to shift it and move on with what little of my life I have left, but I am prepared to take 40K which is a huge opportunity to buy one of just 100 cars ever made and the most interesting Viper in the world at number 52 celebrating the win of the 52 race car.
I really need this car to stay in the UK and go to a good home of a club member who can only watch it go up in value, USA value already for a numbered car is 100K in US dollars.
