Chrysler crushing vipers

Noticed on fb Chrysler are destroying 96 pre production vipers

Would have loved one just to polish and look at as won't be able to register it to drive

All this because they were built for educational purposes and wasn't built to be road legal so safety
Requirements have not been made.

Anyone else spot this

Yeah I have seen it on VOA and FB, as far as I can tell these were pre-production test mules that would normally have seen the crusher a long time ago. They were given to education departments for, well, education, but that has been abused with two making it onto roads and importantly accidents that have seen fiat being held liable. So its a usual case of a few fking it up for the many and you cant really blame fiat for pulling the plug on them.

My only concern would be if they really do have historical value, in which case it would be better if Chrysler reclaimed them and put them into their museum.
