Looks a bit dusty and funny how the special editions were the ones made in the biggest numbers.

I think SRT do it to fill space on the production line. Goes something like

Line worker "err we don't know what to build, we have no orders"
Manager bloke "build 100 red ones"
Marketing dept "Yeah lets call those red one Final editions"
Customer "yeah a special edition, gets check book out"
Customer 6 month later "How come there are more of my special edition than other viper combinations, logs onto auto trader"

It was special when they sent 100 GT2's down the line with the disposable camera and to commemorate the win. Not so much when there are first and final edition runs only separated by a single production year or a break, and in that other year there was some other special run of 100 cars for some other reason. Like i said seems like there are more special edition vipers than regular ones nowadays.

From the ad:- "The Final Edition Series" comprised of just 18 Roadsters, 20 Coupes and 12 American Club Racers,.... all were factory order only

'factory order only?' well, where else could you buy one? Wallmart?

Paul - no viper yet lol

Well it was incredibly close for me buying this after I'd been watching Bernie's 2 blues with the thought that when one sold i would have to make a decision. Then when one did sell and I phoned up card in hand to be told someone else had the same thoughts and had picked up the phone quicker than me.

The overriding concern with the black center bands or the white car for me though was I'm not obsessive about cleaning it. Blue hides a lot lol

Back to the original post. I don't think that car is in the UK, or at least those pictures weren't taken in the UK.
